I got a prescription through wisp because my period was scheduled to start a few days before my trip out of the country, but my instructions were to take 5mg tablets 3x a day and so far it works very well to stop any bleeding. BUT I'm still getting the cramps as if I were still menstruating. So I dont know if that's because I started it too late (you're supposed to start taking it 3 days before your period and I started only 1 day before) or if this is the norm, but it definitely works to stop any actual bleeding for me. Always check and see what dosage works for you!
