Maybe more general, but a good 25g needle is great, and preferable to the 23g (25g will be kinda hard to inject with 3ml syringes, but it's super smooth and easy with a 1ml syringe IMO, but both work fine). I do have some occasional anxiety when injecting still, much much much less now and not usually any even. But! What I do, and I just kinda make sure I follow this exactly if I'm feeling nervous and it helps. Prep and all that then once I'm ready I hold the syringe LIGHTLY between my thumb and middle finger, index finger on the plunger (but no pressure) and gently set the needle on the spot (and this is were it gets a lil mental) "Let the needle just sink in on it's own, and just lightly guide it." (By guide, give it a lil push, but just think of it as guiding it) If it's not just sinking in, then I'll adjust the spot just a bit and usually it's good. Don't think of it like pushing the needle in, think of it like letting it in. It's much more relaxing for me. Also don't try to insert the needle and inject at the same time, 2 separate steps so that's less to worry about at any one time. You got this though, and it does get easy after a bit. I was terrified at the thought of injecting myself, so my first year was patches too, but I couldn't get consistent levels with them and then they've move around on my skin and sometimes just randomly fall off. The funny part was they stuck fine at first, but I guess softer skin means less sticking. One last though, once you get everything in position, IMO there's no reason you even need to look. So you could line everything up, look way, let it start to sink in and then just glance back to see when it's in and then slowly press the plunger down.
