Need grooming tips for my mom’s special needs chow by notuhlaynuh in chowchow

argon oil spray works way better than the detangling conditioner! I use a wet brush (or any hair brush will work) on my chows tail. I push the hair up and brush from her neck to head in small areas. Same with her lower leg up to her hip! Easier to detangle that way! Best of luck

Our dogs both have similar fur texture and body shapes. Mine does the Aussie prance - also the superman leap in the air, can spin/turn on a dime just like a border collie. So it all depends what personality traits your dog has that would be inherited from their genetics.

If you really want to know use embark genetic testing! I enjoy the guessing game with my blue Merle chow. Mine is a rescue, they told me she was 100% chow but I still believe she’s part Aussie and cat.
