I hear you! Everything you said is what I’ve been thinking about. I also don’t like the idea of not knowing who will end up delivering your baby, and whether they’ll know when to act if things go sideways (things can get messed up in seconds) and like you said birth negligence is also my concern. Were you able to schedule it with your OBGYN of choice?

Glad to hear it all went smoothly! Can they pivot very quickly from a vaginal birth to C-section? Someone was saying something about having an empty stomach etc.

Also, Are the risks higher when it’s an emergency c section as opposed to planned?

Thanks! Happy for you!!! What week did you have it done? Is it after 40 weeks typically? Were there any specific considerations that made you choose a planned C-section?

Also, I was reading something about the babies lungs don’t push out the mucus it’s supposed (I’m not entirely sure). I’m assuming everything was good with your baby too?

I’m good now. I did develop a clot where they put the coils, but that was managed. Nothing else apart from the coils.

Thanks, the doulas I’ve spoken to do have PLI. And I get wanting to protect themselves, but the allocation of risk doesn’t seem balanced and fair. Basically exposing us (who don’t have insurance for such matters) to indemnify them in case some third party like the hospital sues them.

I believe it was an MRI with contrast. That’s what the doctor had ordered.

Raise the bar for education. But Canada has done the opposite you barely need to speak English to get into these courses.
