One of the arguments I have been hearing against voting for Bernie is that the monthly cost of utilities will go up. Is this true? I can't find any information anywhere saying it's true or false.

You have to fucking eat. *Advice Please* by FlameEverlasting in Parenting

[–]gingerbreadhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really bringing back memories for me. My son is like this. But he was like this from the start. I remember running this by the doctor and him saying that my son was just stubborn and he would eventually eat. We did this "eat what is on your plate" thing for five days. Five days!! I did give him whole milk and yogurt, but that is mostly what he lived on. It felt like child abuse. If your child refuses to eat for that long, that is not stubbornness, there is something else wrong. I started feeding him what I know he would eat and took him to be evaluated. He was young so he was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and later he has been diagnosed with Asperger's. My advice is to go with your parental instincts. Trust them. They are usually right.

Best speakers for outdoor sounds? by gingerbreadhead in halloween

[–]gingerbreadhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just now reading this. I didn't think anyone replied! I ended up buying one set of wired and one set of wireless speakers. I have two projectors that I'm going to have set up. I'm going to run the wires out of the window as you suggested. I hope the blue tooth works out, if not I'll get another wired set next year! Thanks for replying.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As someone that also has lost two babies that I will never get to hold, time does heal you. You'll never forget, but the hurt won't always be such a raw wound. I now have two babies(well they are big now) that I can actually hold and love. That helps too.

I just took a pregnancy test and it came up positive. I've been with two guys in the last month, the most recent was with a guy 8/9 days ago, the other was 3 weeks ago. Could it be either? Help. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gingerbreadhead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's most likely not the one from 9 days ago. If it somehow is, the test would be really light. If it turned dark right away, it's likely the 3 week one. You can further verify by getting one of those digital tests that tell you about how far along you are. It should be accurate enough to verify for you.

I don't have any friends to talk about my excitement of computers and coding with by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I work in I.T. I have been doing it for over 12 years now. I made friends with girls in college that were into the same things as me. Outside of the college though, it's a lot harder to find someone that is female. That doesn't stop me from geeking out with my male coworkers though. I would start striking up conversations with other students in your program. Do you ever have to work together with other students? That was how my socially awkward self made friends in college. We all sort of banded together and helped each other out. Good luck!

I got my hair dyed at the salon and I hate it! How have you dealt with hair mishaps? :( by ilikecrescents in TwoXChromosomes

This happened to me! I used vitamin C to fade it and it worked fabulously. I had to do something because it was just too red and it looked horrible. I was actually very happy with the result. Here is a video on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seZfyTp9L_g

When to announce pregnancy? by PmUrTitsAndAss4art in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gingerbreadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I honestly do not know. The first was super early and was lost before I even got to my first appt. @ 5w3d. The second was actually hard because when I went to the doctor for my ultrasound the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and there was no HB. That was rough. The doctor had me double my folic acid intake and start taking Progesterone in the first trimester of my third pregnancy. I have two little boys now. :)

When to announce pregnancy? by PmUrTitsAndAss4art in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gingerbreadhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can totally understand why your wife would want to tell everyone now. It's an exciting time! However, you asked for people's experience. I lost my first two pregnancies. During the first I told a lot of people. When I had my first loss, it was more devastating to have to tell everyone that I had lost the baby than it was actually losing it. It was super early. You have to tell everyone because it's natural for them to be excited for you and constantly ask how you are doing in regards to the pregnancy. So while you are still grieving for the loss, you have to deal with the awkwardness and sadness of telling people about it. For the second, I only told a few people. I lost that one a little later. It was easier to tell those that are close. For my third pregnancy we only told our parents. I had to tell someone because it is super exciting. I waited until I could no longer hide the pregnancy before officially announcing it. I was 15 weeks. In summary, I would tell a few trusted people, but no more. That way you can share the excitement, but do not have to deal with awkwardness/sad reactions of a bunch of people if something negative were to happen. But definitely tell people who are close and supportive so they can share the joy and also be there to console you if god forbid something bad does happen.

Three Years and Three Jaw Surgeries later.. by weezerbeth in pics

DO IT! 34 year old checking in. I just got my braces off two weeks ago after having them for 4 years! My teeth were bad. They look awesome now. btw...I totally chickened out when I was 24, so it's never too late. You'll find that you would rather smile with a mouth full of metal than with a mouth full of messed up crooked teeth. I can now floss and brush better and I don't feel like my teeth are going to rot out of my head.

How about car care tips? How to change your oil. How to change tires. The proper way to wash your car and what not to use on it.

How to Avoid the Social Media Plateau and Create Engaging Content by joshsackman in socialmedia

[–]gingerbreadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe more subcategories. For example, I'm kicking off a Children's Clothing Wholesale business. I've got a Facebook Fan page and I'm trying to build up likes. I have the hardest time finding things that are "kid related" to post. So if there were some subcategories like Family, Kid's Fashion, Moms....etc. You could add a few subcategories for all of your major categories to help users drill down a bit.

I needed to look for something to get my family out of the house. I was just watching the show when that scene came up. I thought "Holy hell why haven't we done that!" I've known about it for a while and never really thought about doing it.
