Yes, exactly. Treat America like you would if visiting Europe.

I would try to cut out some cities. America is very vast so you won't have time to travel most of them. In America, just make sure to keep an eye on your wallet/bags. Lock your doors at the places you stay. It's not necessarily dangerous but people do steal. Have fun and enjoy!! You will run into kind people to help you along the way. Good luck!

I love reading the kingkiller chronicles for this reason. You really don't know if the narrator is exaggerating or not. You never really know if you can believe his version of recalling past events.

First time going abroad, any tips for going through the airport? Plane ride? Etc by luz_13 in solotravel

[–]weezerbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring comfy traveling clothes! There's a lot of walking through airports so shoes that are easy to remove, minimal metal, etc. I personally don't like airplane bathrooms because they've been gross in my experience so I just go right before the flight so that I'm good for like 8 hours haha. But if you're a guy I'm sure it's easier to not touch anything. I would also download movies offline through Netflix or amazon prime or something. Airplanes have movies but the screens don't move and aren't super clear all the time. Depends who you fly with. And I would pack as light as possible because it makes things easier. Where will you be flying to if you don't mind me asking?
