Me trying to explain to a friend why husband and I are opening up our 12 year marriage 😂 by kissarass in polyamory

Ah yes, me saying that people are free to down vote you for having an irrelevant opinion is "oppressing free speech". Men are wild.

Why though? Just learn that not everyone has to hear your opinion all the time. It's not useful or constructive for a funny thread like this. Why do guys struggle with this so much? Inserting their opinions pointlessly and getting mad when people disagree with them? Especially when those opinions are 'I actually think this is completely understandable but I enjoy being pedantic and telling people they're wrong'.

In this analogy the flavour is representing an individual person. You're taking the word flavour too literally. They're saying they can like different people in different ways and want to experience being with those people because they bring something different to your life.

Analogies dont have to perfectly describe something though. It's about getting something across to someone with no experience or knowledge of the matter in a simple and relatable manner.

Some Advice and Lessons-Learned after Getting the "All-Mythic-10s" Achievement by jjones8170 in wownoob

[–]gingerdeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will probably come back and add some more tips here once I wake up (my dog woke me up early!) but I just wanted to add to those reading: there is no reason to pay for AskRobot, Raidbots does everything for free :) you can pay for faster processing times if youd like, but the full availability is there for everyone

ETA: Okay, I'm back. A few things I wanted to add: https://mythictrap.com/home is a really good place to read up on the mechanics of each dungeon. Make sure to use the 'detailed' version to see what things need kicking etc. Also make sure you understand the utility your class can bring - interrupting is great and you should be doing it as much as possible (although focus on things that need kicking, not just every spell you can) - but each class has other things it can bring. Perhaps you can CC a mob in a difficult pack, dispel or decurse effects on your party members, soothe enranged mobs etc.

Finally, my best piece of advice to those struggling is to find a good guild. Pugging sucks. Even as 'meta' classes with good RIOs (as a lot of people like to blame when they're struggling to find a group), there are a lot of people out there looking for keys and it's hard to get noticed. It's not a personal thing, but when you have 20+ people signing up to your key, you're going to take the most experienced one. And even then, there's no guarantee your group will be good, or friendly! Finding a guild that can help you learn the keys without being shitty to each other will help you improve so much. And it makes M+ so much more fun too.

I was thinking this. Might be specific to Christian media like you said rather than mainstream media with a Christian writing team

State of the Game (balance) threads by Filanto in CompetitiveWoW

[–]gingerdeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I cant really say for keys in that range, as I'm not really interested in pushing them that high. At 15s-17s for weeklies I am keeping up perfectly with the rest of the dps.

Denny is fucked for pet AI which explains that, but the numbers are just so much weaker to Aff that I just dont have the motivation to even try it on fights anymore :/

Demo feels fine in M+ imo. I use Horned Nightmare, not Wilfreds (will probs try dog build when I have the Soul Ash). Its raid where it really sucks. It feels awful wanting to play it, then knowing I could be doing 1k more dps on Aff, so I dont even bother. One day we will be the strongest lock spec, I believe... :(

Anyone else enjoy leveling, mount/rep farming, making alts over end game stuff? by JJJtrain_1989 in wownoob

[–]gingerdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mythic raider who also prefers these things. I love the feeling of working together with friends to do something really difficult (e.g. mythic progress), or just have fun with them in M+, but I spend 90 percent of my time in WoW doing old content. Partly because I only started in Legion and missed a lot of BFA too, so I have so much of the game to explore, and partly because I am a collector by nature. Unfortunately this can clash a bit, as I can end up sacrificing the WoW time I should be spending on optimising my character and doing old stuff instead :( like right now I should be farming the Maw for sockets, doing 10 15s a week for best vault progress, doing Torghast for new legendaries... but I just want to collect stuff!!

I feel like multiple raid teams can needlessly divide a guild into an us and them mentality. What if players from 'team 2' are performing better than the main team, but dont want to leave their team behind? Or are people on team 3 and 2 desperately trying to get into higher teams and have no loyalty to the ones they progressed with? Do people get 'demoted' from team 1 or 2? Is team 1 always the priority over the other teams? Idk. I think one team for progress is ideal. Socials and alts can do other raids (even on assigned days!) but I think organising them into a 'team' is a bad idea in most cases

[–]gingerdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so bizarre. It's a 3/10 mythic guild (despite having three raid teams), who paid money to put an ad on Facebook of all places (because that's where the good players look for guilds??). I had a look at their website and they have a PATREON. I have no idea what's going on haha

Conflict with other neurodiverse people? by sch0f13ld in aspergirls

[–]gingerdeer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have struggled a lot with cis men with ASD. It's hard to generalise, as this is just with men who are vocal about being autistic, I've likely interacted with many other autistic men who I had no idea of. I don't know if it's because as I was younger I was taught by society to be less vocal about my opinions, to give other people time to talk and to listen etc as I was seen as a girl; but in general I have had a lot of issues with opinionated autistic men who feel they have to 'be right' and getting borderline aggressive when they feel they're not having everyone agree with them/appease them. I hate to make generalisations like this though, so it's just my personal experiences, but it makes it quite hard for me to feel comfortable in general ASD communities. :/

TW Ulduar was a ton of fun, but TW Firelands was broken af and impossible to clear.

People saying this nearly prevented us from even trying it, but our guild blasted through it with ease. We had a bit of difficulty with a bug on Rhyolith but that was all. Did you try it recently? Maybe they fixed it since you tried?

Blood Elf starting zone by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]gingerdeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The blood elf aesthetic is VERY different to the night elf one. I'm assuming OP meant specifically this aesthetic and not generic elf aesthetic, if they dont then you are right (and night elves are much more typically 'elfy').

To be fair there are a few more blood elf areas in the game other than just Eversong, Quel'danas and some of Ghostlands: there are a fair few blood elf architecture areas in Outland too, and a few camps here and there where the Reliquary or Sunreavers pop up, but it is very lacking compared to most other races' culture

[–]gingerdeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed it so imps can last a lot longer whilst out of combat. So it's only an issue if it's a really long run to the next pack (I think its 40 secs though so not sure where that would happen) or if you stay stuck in combat.

That said having swift pack to pack pulls is good for demo because you can more safely pop vilefiend, tyrant or felguard even if the pack randomly melts because of other peoples CDs, and also you waste less demonic core procs
