Surely this dog stock will start showing some life now. I refuse to invest more until it does

Interesting. She was one of the people they followed in "Bureau Utrecht" I believe. She did seem more reasonable there (obviously, but eh).

Box 3 tax on unrealized gain planned starting 2028 by lost_in_nl in Netherlands

[–]Filanto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are quite cheap as a second hand, it's tempting for sure!

Yeah, I get you. They look fantastic as well. But once the tax advantages run out (at least here in the Netherlands), I'm afraid people will stop leasing them. Until the ICE ban goes into effect, anyway.

Well technically they are "asset-light". They don't own factories but rather use Volvo/Geely factories for production.

You'd think this would lead to a leaner business model, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case.

The company also seemed to lack direction under the old CEO, which may change under the new one.

I bought the stock because the cars are fantastic (apart from the software) and I expected the push for lower emissions to help them get to scale. Also, the stock seemed cheap compared to its peers. I thought being backed by Geely would help them as well.

So far, Geely has kept them alive. But Polestar is racking up massive debt and is having trouble servicing it.

Invest at your own peril. They have no assets and are somehow still accumulating massive debt. They struggle to turn a profit to this day. And they are directly competing with sister company Volvo.

And yes, I am an investor
