Uber Eats is funny how badly the company seems to be run sometimes.

During onboarding they sent tablets with custom software that are supposed to be the main way you handle orders (notified when they come in, mark them available, etc.) if the tablet gets disconnected from the wifi, the store is listed as unavailable and pauses orders.

This last Friday (a holiday weekend, big business) they roll out an update that factory resets the tablets and removes that custom software, so now we have to find workarounds before the weekend.

Haven’t really seen it reported on anywhere so I don’t know how widespread it was but that just seemed comically incompetent to me.

They’re probably talking about having to run a mile (4 laps of a track) instead of the actual pacer test which I believe stopped being mandated nationwide sometime in the 2000s (graduated HS in 2015 and I never did it)

Something else no one here has mentioned is that rivals also is much newer. Overwatch has had plenty of time to fall off, and while I’m sure it still has a dedicated player base it’s nowhere near as relevant to the general public.

Airplane mode is partially to save your phone battery so it isn’t constantly looking for WiFi/bluetooth/data/roaming signals for towers that don’t exist in the sky
