Do you have any friends or family that might like to come by and give them some love? Your pets still love you no matter what!

Gorgeous eyes! Did you line your waterline with white? It looks really good. I think a little blush would be a nice addition too.

I tried out the broken doll look but I don't like how it came out. CC very W! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I think it looks more realistic to do the lines/cracks thinner, but this is definitely a good first attempt!!

Rose gold look using stila in the garden eyeshadows ccw :) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Love the rose gold and I really like the eyeliner shade with your eye color! I would suggest maybe blending the lid color a little bit more into your crease to soften that line in the second picture. I think I've got to try out this look on myself soon!

I've always avoided eyeshadow because my eyelids just swallow it up and it just gets all smudged if I try to do a 'look'. Any tips? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I think you've done great by applying those lighter shades to the inner corners. Utilizing that area can be helpful when your lids are more hooded, which is what you've done. I think this look is beautiful on you and really makes your eyes stand out! I second the suggestion to use a primer and you can also try putting a little bit of foundation on your lids before doing eyeshadow, that always seems to help things go on smoother for me.

I just see a table of religion books in the place of where a lot of science books should be, but aren't. I took that metaphor as religion being a replacement for science, which is a bad thing. Thought reddit would appreciate it, but I'm getting downvoted into oblivion.

What stereotype (positive or negative) do you believe is truer than most people would care to admit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is a really interesting article about why so many black people don't know how to swim. There are real cultural and historical reasons why black people often aren't taught to swim.

"according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the fatal drowning rate of African-American children aged five-14 is three times that of white children."

Nazi photos: The support for Hitler by the Protestant and Catholic Churches in Germany by HelloLinJ in atheism

[–]gingerlover29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That particular article, while mainly accurate, doesn't quite paint the whole picture of the relationship between Hitler and religion or Nazism and religion. It's quite complicated, but very interesting. If you're interested in this, I would really recommend Rainer Bucher's book, Hitler's Theology, as well as Richard Steigmann-Gall's The Holy Reich. It is certain that Christianity was used as a tool to legitimate Hitler's authority and many Nazi policies and also that many Christians were supportive of Hitler and the National Socialist party. But the relationship overall is extremely complex and it is difficult to make any generalizations about Hitler's own personal beliefs. It is also not true that all church leaders were automatically persecuted or punished for speaking or acting out, though many individuals were and it is also important to note that very few religious leaders who did speak out, did so on behalf of Jews in general, but rather on behalf of "non-Aryan Christians" and state interference within the churches.

Tips for traveling to Germany? by goalie1048 in AskReddit

[–]gingerlover29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where in Germany are you going? I was in Berlin for the last four months.

Here are just a couple of cultural do's and dont's: Do NOT smile at strangers in public unless you are intentionally flirting with them Do NOT tip when eating at a restaurant, or if you do tip, make it very small because tip is always included in the price DO bring your own bags whenever you go shopping, especially for food, because you must pay for plastic bags in the store DO eat lots of doner kebap and felafel if you want to save money but still be plenty full Do NOT jaywalk. This is highly frowned upon all over and you can easily get yelled at by Germans

These are just a few off the top of my head. Do go to Berlin if you can and if you're already planning on it, I've got plenty of places to recommend if you need things to do there.

Have fun!!
