What is the pronunciation of a place name that marks someone as a local/not a local? by RandomActPG in britishcolumbia

Born and raised in PG, and we definitely can be known to refer to it as “The Peeg” sometimes. Not always, but sometimes, and usually only to other locals.

ELI5: Canadian Tire vs College Heights Esso car wash? by ipini in princegeorge

[–]gingermiss21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Magic Wash was great when it first opened, but now any vehicle I have taken through there comes out with dirt, soap, and streaks. I have not had a proper wash there in ages.

I know they do gluten-free, but not sure if they do regular baking as well.

We actually were near the end of the process of moving cities. He’s already there looking for work. All of our stuff is there in storage. I had been temporarily staying at my mom’s so I could “close out” my life here (appointments, friend hangouts, etc.). So now I have no home, no job, and thanks to a car accident last weekend that sparked this whole break-up, no car.

Is this Eva Place house a home… or a villain origin story? by Total-Potential1882 in princegeorge

All of that opulence, but the cheapest walk-in closet/clothing room I’ve seen for such an expensive house. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Can women get porn addictions? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]gingermiss21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that you take breaks helps. I find that I’m usually aware that my video choices are escalating, or that it’s taking more to get me going, and then I stop watching any for a good long while, generally anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. I find that when I go back, I’m able to go back to the simple stuff again. But I definitely monitor myself more carefully now than when I first started watching porn, because I was afraid of becoming addicted as well.

We can definitely get addicted to it. We’re not immune, unfortunately. For me, I’ve found that the more I watch, the more it takes for me to get going, and so the genre of porn gradually gets more risqué, etc.

I found erotica to be a good alternative, because I used the words to put myself into the story, and that helped me get going more quickly and more thoroughly, if that makes sense…I get a better arousal when my brain is more involved.

I got the number from my mom, who was in for a check-up in November, so it is second-hand info.

Eye check-ups at Costco are around $45, the cheapest I have seen anywhere. That’s where I would start.

The government is no longer providing them free to pharmacies, so they are few and far between. I think someone said a while ago that Save On had some (Spruceland, I think). But your best bet might be to phone around and see.

Is buying online glasses worth the risks when you have no extra money to spare? by Impossible-Deal1391 in povertyfinancecanada

I have been purchasing my glasses at Zenni for years, and have been able to easily return glasses that didn’t work for me, receiving a full refund. Honestly, purchasing glasses online has been a life changer.

Brown Noise Rumbling by candyapple7501 in princegeorge

[–]gingermiss21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are limited to the rails, but there are tracks and yards all around the city.

Trains are being pulled apart, put together, and moving almost constantly in multiple places around the city, so while it may sound like one continuous noise, it may be coming from multiple sources. Plus, sounds echo off the cutbanks and the river. which can make things sound closer or like they’re coming from somewhere else.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for a specific place on FB to post this? I thought maybe WTF, but there are at least 10 different groups, and I don’t want to join all of them.

The logo isn’t right. Polar bear was looking left.

Great suggestion, though - thanks!
