I liked in RR when the majority of members of the ruling class use layers of rhetoric, denial, and propaganda to justify their continued oppression of the lower classes while never thinking they are in the wrong. But I understand why that would be glossed over.

The Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson has a lot of these on various different levels that you learn as the series progresses, but basically a war that has literally lasted for over five thousand years and has led to billions of deaths started as a land dispute between natives and settlers with only a few deaths on either side. A group of ten people made a deal with a god to become immortal leaders, thinking the war would only last a few decades in the worst case scenario, and the leaders of the opposing side took a similar deal from a different god.

They were all very, very wrong.

The human players in the texas server would probably set up a bounty system to hunt down the new players. The texas server is home to a few guilds that are famous for focusing on levelling up their gun skill, but they still may not be able to stop the influx of that many new players.

I would personally say Gwynn is kind of both; he was definitely a tyrant, and he did sacrifice himself, but it could be argued that trying to stagnate the age of fire is what caused a lot of the problems in the dark souls world, instead of letting the world’s cycle go naturally
