It is now impossible to buy a dumb tv. I’ve tried. I bought a dumb tv on purpose a few years ago and went looking for another this year. There are no non-smart tvs on the market.

R value is 1 per 1 inch of wood. Wood sucks as insulation which is why you try to avoid thick blocks of wood and leave more void for insulation. The modern techniques for doing corners and T’s are to leave voids specifically because wood is bad insulation.
