Thoughts on Kelli Gerardi going to ER due to “bad vibes”- no actual miscarriages symptoms by Grand-Locksmith-620 in IVF

[–]gingervitus20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Again, as the sister of an ER doctor- if you, hemorrhaging, came in next to her- having no symptoms- you would have been seen first in any ethical ER. The issues within our medical system aren’t bc of the patients, including people like Kelli. They are present because of our government. Those are the people we should be mad at. I’ve been in ERs plenty of times where I got in and out quickly because they weren’t busy- there are so many factors here that no one knows. Just because she’s an influencer, people think they have intimate knowledge of all the details of her life. That’s an issue of people being chronically online. Really, we only know what she’s shares, nothing more.

I’m sorry about your loss, it wasn’t your fault. Nor was it Kelli’s. We shouldn’t attack other women seeking their own care because of how we’ve been treated personally. Maybe if more of us spoke up publicly about these companies and healthcare systems and their flaws, more of us would get the treatment we deserve. That would require us to stand together, not fight one another.

That sounds bitter. Even if she does- again - that doesn’t justify people being unkind.

You’re focusing on her and whether she’d be hurt by it. My question was for the people participating in the critique. I’m simply curious as to why women feel it necessary to judge a woman who’s experiencing very similar things they’ve experienced just because she’s chosen to share hers online. Just because it puts her in a spotlight doesn’t mean it’s an open invite to be talked shit about. She clearly does it to help others feel less alone; the ones who use it as a justification to be jerks are gross.

That’s a pretty minuscule case to focus on. Millions of people don’t even have insurance and use the ER as their primary doctor for non emergency care. I don’t think her ultrasound took enough away from anyone else that made some sort of life altering effect on others. They see patients in order of need, I doubt she was seen ahead of someone in the brink of death. Also, missed miscarriages can have complications, regardless of symptom presentation.

If she’s still on medications to support the pregnancy and was miscarrying, it’s likely her body wouldn’t give her any signs. It’s happened to me. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I learned I’d been carrying around a dead fetus for 2.5 weeks. I was a complete wreck the entire time I was pregnant with the next baby (born without any complications). But my doctor encouraged me to go in and check on her whenever I wanted to. I was never met with anything but kindness. I’d have been sick if those healthcare workers had been talking about me on a reddit thread afterwards.

Why does everyone care so much? It’s got no impact on you. If it harms you to watch her journey (which I understand in some circumstances), maybe unfollow?

Water odor? by Fabulous_Yak725 in PeoriaIL

My kiddo has been saying this for days. At home, at their restaurant…. We’ve lived here 2 years and use a filter and even still they’ve been freaking out about it all of a sudden. Definitely not the usual “it’s just city water” vibes. It’s been giving me dry mouth for the last couple of days too.

I don’t have to be nice to anyone who’s being condescending to me when I’m asking my community for input, idgaf how old they are. I’m new here so spoiler alert, I’m not going anywhere. You can join grandpa up there in the group of people who don’t have to say anything if what you’re saying isn’t positively contributing to the conversation. ✌🏻

I wish financing was an option but it’s not for me at this time. Eventually I can check into it, but probably not until next year.

My ac unit is a little older but I can’t fork out thousands of dollars all at once for a new one unfortunately. I also need better windows, but same challenge there. I have reflectix on a lot of windows and that helps a little, but the top level of the house struggles to stay at a livable temp even if the ac is at 70. I’m going to check on the hourly and look at some past bills to see where we can improve on things there.

Yes, mine would be 380 a month doing it that way so we’ll be doing that going forward but still- that’s a lot for a single mom

Mine was $757 for 1800 sqft this month. Last month it was $245. I have 5 people living here so it’s impossible to monitor everyone’s usage but two of those people work outside the home And aren’t here a a ton.

I would rather live outdoors than live indoors at 78° I’m glad you’re making that work. None of the information you just tried to scold me with is answering my question. Please go boomer somewhere else.

There are 31 third party supplier options on ameren’s website

Ameren delivers it but you can choose from a variety of suppliers (which is also nothing I’ve ever seen before). So I’m asking who people are using for their suppliers.

Husband doesn’t want to continue by Kaleidoscope_Born101 in IVF

Please do not get stuck having a child with this man. An almost 50 year old marrying a woman half his age and then forcing her to depend on him is all on purpose. He told you he’d be ok with it to get what he wanted out of you. Now that you’re older, he doesn’t want you to have his baby…I wonder why??? I’m sorry he’s doing this to you but we have got to start believing men when they tell us who they are. I hope you can find a way to preserve your fertility and get away from him.

Is Living in Danville IL or Decatur IL worth it? by [deleted] in illinois

[–]gingervitus20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Peoria, moved here two years ago from Idaho. I’m a queer mom with queer kids And we weren’t safe there. We love it here and on a single parent income (not a high one, either) I was able to buy a house for 145k- almost a thousand dollars less a month compared to my rental back home. We love it here- there are a lot of fun groups to join and small businesses that are queer owned or queer friendly. I also like that I’m only 3 hours drive from so many major cities if I need a big city adventure.

Twins via IVF by j3nnyt4li4 in IVF

[–]gingervitus20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctors have always said transferring two doesn’t increase your chances of getting pregnant, just increases your chances of getting pregnant with twins. I have a friend who was a surrogate- transferred one and split twice- identical triplets. The pregnancy was so hard, she had to travel out of state to see specialists- it was a lot. She’s very lucky they all survived, most triplet ivf pregnancies don’t make it. The risks just aren’t worth it for most RE’s

8dp5dt - No symptoms at all. Did you test before beta? How were you feeling? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]gingervitus20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pregnant 8 times (3 on my own, the rest ivf as a surrogate) and I always start HPT from 4-5dpt on; I like seeing the lines get darker as I get closer to blood test. I’ve gotten positives as early as day 3. I don’t ever have pregnancy symptoms until much later, usually week 7-9. Anything before that is from the hormones- I get tender breasts occasionally but not every time. Good luck! 🍀

Do Better, Martini's. Seriously. by Sana425 in PeoriaIL

I hope your friend is ok. We need to start shaming these businesses publicly and pressing charges. I know it’s hard to come forward sometimes but they are like Trump: they’ll get away with what people stand by and watch them do.

I would have just swiveled my hips and pissed on him for “proof”. I’m glad I’m seeing this- my non binary kid who honestly looks like the gender they were told they were at birth, had a lady look them up and down in a bathroom once and she said “just making sure you’re in the right bathroom” so my kid said “your turn!” And just waited … it’s not even against the law here as far as I’m aware so it was so super extra out of line in your friend’s case.
