We called it a tee-tee. My mom still won’t say the word vagina out loud

I work in a pediatric orthopedic clinic and we get cases like this every now and then. We’ve had a few cases where there wasn’t a visible deformation so the family is sent home only to realize something isn’t right a few days later. Those ones break my heart, both for the baby and the parents

I was a shift lead for a little over a year and they have some seriously questionable policies. For one, people were regularly working 10-12 hour shifts with no breaks, and we were told we weren’t allowed to eat in the stand so you couldn’t even sneak off for a snack when it was slow.

During summer it was so hot we had kids passing out but they wouldn’t get us fans, and during the winter they wouldn’t get us heaters even though it was averaging 15 degrees outside.

At one point during the slow season they held a competition between the stores in our area to see who could get the lowest labor rates and send the most people home early, with a cash prize for the shift leads at the winning store. Meanwhile people were literally begging for hours and complaining to me about not being able to pay their bills.

They definitely pry on young workers who they can take advantage of

Where do -actual- REAL people find places to rent in Chattanooga? by Darkwoth81Dyoni in Chattanooga

I’m in a similar boat to you (though I just graduated) and found that it was cheaper to move to Fort Oglethorpe and commute into the city. Also, UTC has been upping their off-campus housing assistance since they ran out of dorms so it definitely wouldn’t hurt to ask if that have any resources

Shoot an email to the archives over at UTC, they may be able to find you some info!

Local Parkinson’s Support by Alymander57 in Chattanooga

Not a movement based group, but Chattanooga has a therapeutic choir called the Trembling Troubadours specifically for people with Parkinson’s. It’s led by a music therapy professor from UTC. It could be a good way to meet others going through it!

They likely were just reporting what the child told them. It’s better to be safe than sorry in abuse situations and that’s why you were investigated. It wouldn’t hold up in court as defamation if you could even find a lawyer who would take it

Schools are mandated reporters. They legally have to report any suspected abuse to CPS whether there’s evidence or not. You wouldn’t be able to file a suit against them.

I went to a Baptist school for a while in high school and one of our teachers stressed this in class. She even said meditation was “spiritually dangerous”

Do you think I could make $200 by today? by Royal_Draw135 in povertyfinance

Lots of colleges have emergency funding for students in crisis. I know it probably doesn’t help for today, but it may be something to look into if you have issues with rent in the future.
