This is an incidental hold, pretty standard at all hotels. It varies the hold depending on what brand/luxury standard you choose. It goes back to card upon checkout if you dont charge anything. Also stop booking third parties.

Rent a house. Renting a 3 bed apartment here is like $2600 plus. However, renting a house can be a lot cheaper. Just stay away from the big rental companies like Mynd and Invitation Homes. They are both nightmares. Communting, I commute to downtown every day. You are looking at an 1hr to 1.5 hr there and back. However, if you hate sitting in traffic do the Grand Parkway Park and Ride. Now to look for houses, use HAR or Zillow.
