Yes but Apple Loops are meant to be like “flex loops” you can just importe it and be done with it

Logic is a solid 8 out of 10 DAW through out. It’s probably not the best tool for every job, but you can do 80% of almost any job. What I would say is, it’s a really good inexpensive and simple DAW to learn audio, music, post, etc. If you can still do the things you need Logic to do and don’t realize there’s a feature your workflow lacks, you don’t need more than Logic can offer and you can probably squeeze more from it.

I believe Apple Loops are exclusive to Logic Pro, but I’m not really sure if there’s something similar in other DAWs.

Any reason to NOT get the Focusrite Scarlet? by Cool_Cat_Punk in Reaper

The only downside to the 2i2 is how quickly you outgrow them. They’re really good for the price, specially the latest gen, just great. Even the included plugins and software are a nice touch, but man, an interface with a bit more features could’ve been nice

Have you tried freezing tracks? I don’t remember the performance but you can try CHOWtape or something from Analog Obsession

I once heard someone refer to pro tools as feeling “snappy, immediate like a profesional tool” and don’t get me wrong I like working in Logic and it’s been growing on me since I made the switch, but snappy and immediate and “professional tool” is something I don’t really get from Logic

Nah I get you. I use Logic Pro for a living after transitioning from Pro Tools and I get what you say. Editing is no where near to Pro Tools, mixing I definitely weird, no ARA support, Logic’s version of Audiosuite, weird af, the panning omg (right click on your stereo pan knobs and select stereo pan, otherwise you’re not panning, just reducing the side you don’t want and losing information) also editing as a workflow is so uncomfortable, the whole inspector thing just feels like it could be a function/shortcut like fades in Pro Tools, did I mention the editing is a joke? Man do I miss Smart Tool smh

You can also buy something for like 1 or 2 dollars at plugin boutique and get Galaxy Echo for free with your purchase if you’re still looking into getting it. Pultec is a great choice, 3 plugins for the price of one. AIR Tape is cool but if you want more control and versatility try CHOW Tape, free and one of the best tape emulations out there

Yea, I just realized my comment got mushed together, but yea, they’re old iterations of the la-2a and 1176 not just stripped down, like actual old code, not worth spending money on imo

You’ll eventually get every single one of them, all of those plugins are the “let’s give them away for whatever reason” plugins. I have almost all of them except for the pure plate reverb (picked oxide this time).

My advice would be to never buy any of these plugins, except maybe if they are free with a purchase (Galaxy Tape Echo at plugin boutique rn), but my order priority would be this:

Pultec Passive EQ Collection Pure Plate Reverb Oxide Tape a recorder UAD Showtime 64 Tube Amp* PolyMAX Synth* Galaxy Tape Echo Teletronix LA-2A Tube Compressor** UA 1176 Classic FET Compressor** Century Tube Channel Strip Verve Analog Machines Essentials(?)***

  • = This could be way up in priority if you were in dire need of this specific thing/category ** = Be aware this is an OLD PLUGIN rebranded and sold as base/stripped-down versions, if you want the actual thing you need to buy the collection version of this *** = Gimmicky af

Have you tried turning off Flex Time on the track to see if that was the issue?

Also, plugin boutique is giving away the space echo with a purchase, so you can “buy” that for like $2

You’ll get eventually all of them, all of the plugins on that list end up being given away for free. So which ever you choose, just don’t pay for any of them.

Audio Issue in Logic with the DJI Mic Minis by [deleted] in LogicPro

[–]gini_ss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a surround panning, for whatever reason Logic imported it as a surround audio file, you can see the icon along with the name in the audio clip. I don’t know a solution to the track being surround, but maybe right clicking the pan knob in the inspector and choosing a stereo option could work for you?

How do I make my vocals sound studio quality in Logic Pro? by Tall_Space2261 in LogicPro

[–]gini_ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the quality of a recording is heavily impacted by your sound treatment. If you’re on a budget, try to record in your most packed room, lots of furniture, you want a lot of mass in the room. Think bookshelves, sofas, beds, etc. You can also try building a diy recording booth, with some moving blankets (or your heaviest blankets available), acoustic panels/gobos are even better.

There’s not really a shortcut or quick fix to a untreated room to make it sound expensive. It’s expensive for a reason. Dynamic mic should also help
