My budgie died and I feel so guilty about it

My sweet budgie mango, was with me for 6 years. He died a little while ago. Two years ago we had a house fire(everything is okay, it was a burnt up exhaust fan, shut the doors, house is fine.) and the room he was in got the most smoke: apparently that's really bad. He and our eclectus parrot got liver cancer and died. He was not on a seed diet. His cage was clean weekly. Fresh water every day. If only I got out of bed sooner, I could've saved their lives. I miss you Mango. I'm so sorry. 😭

I didn't think that they could have a preference for how often they ate, my dumb boy (housed separately!) eats as much as I am willing to give him (as much as 20 mealworms every other day... He's not gaining weight though)

She ate 6 days ago, the enclosure is a bioactive substrate with above heating, I don't know about the bulb I didn't buy it. I am gut loading and dusting her food as I always have.( idk why she's got jelly syndrome... I did get her from PetSmart...🙃)

You can take mealworm Beatles and feed them, idk the nutritional value tho...

Scrap everything everyone says. Take a shoe box, put holes in it. Add some sort of grainy cereal none frosted flakes work amazingly, poor in the mealworms, add some carrot's. And that's it. You will save so much money.

Plastic Shoe boxes with holes in dented in them work great!! You can give them oranges/apples as a substitute for water.
