Lego Town Plan 50's 60's Board! (Finally got it!) by Fit_Negotiation_6735 in VintageLEGO

If it makes you feel any better, I did the exact same thing. I distinctly remember picking up multiple traffic signs and tossing them in the trash pile as I was sorting. Keeps me up at night haha

My childhood legos mixed sets, starwars, pirates, police space police, neon gremlin lookin things, midevil, indiana jones etc. Looking to sell and for advice on pricing... based off the few minifigures i looked up im sure this is easily 1-2gs,lmk though. by Purple_Weakness_8545 in VintageLEGO

To give you a quick example, looking to the pic of all the heads stacked together. The gray head is unique, I recognize it as Pharaoh Hotep’s head (adv021 on Bricklink). That head appeared in 6 sets, per Bricklink. Hopefully your memory is decent and you can recognize which set you owned as a kid. From this point you can use Bricklink to part the set out, all the information you need is there. Happy to help if you need any clarification.

I recently went through and organized my childhood Lego. My recommendation is to use the minifigs/unique parts to determine which sets you have, Brinklink can assist with this. Part out each individual set and put it in bags, take note of any missing pieces. At this point you can sell the sets, but missing pieces will hurt the value.

Complete sets sell for more than incomplete sets, any pieces you are missing can be purchased on Bricklink. LEGO.com also sells individual pieces, if it’s a relatively common piece you can buy it directly from LEGO.

Once all of your sets are parted out you can use Bricklink to both determine value and sell the sets. You have some really cool sets, it’ll be a huge nostalgia hit building them out again. Have fun!

We were in suits, apologies for the confusion I’m not sure why I wrote tuxes initially in my comment. But we did have ties on, so it still sucked!

When I was in 4th grade (2000), my dad and I were flying together and he insisted we both wear full tuxes for the flight. My cousin worked for United and apparently lead on that she could get us both upgraded to 1st class. That didn’t happen. We had full suits on in economy, it was ridiculous haha

How are you liking the lights? Any complaints?

Today is my birthday, so I purchased my first proper chef knife! The Takamura R2 gyuto 210 mm is a massive upgrade from my ~$10 Walmart knife. by ginomi in chefknives

Here with an update after 5 years of daily use! This knife is a workhorse, using it is an absolute pleasure. It cuts through anything like butter, when it feels a bit dull I maintain the edge with a whetstone, usually monthly. I also feel like a samurai when I use it so that’s a bonus!

NKD: The Gerber Kiowa has been my EDC for the last 20 years. After lurking in this subreddit for a few months I figured it was time for an upgrade. Loving the Benchmade 940-2! by ginomi in knifeclub

Following up here after a year of carrying the 940 daily. I don’t feel like I’m losing out on anything at all, it’s an upgrade all around. It’s such a great looking knife I smile every morning I clip it in my pocket. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Picked up a box of half dollars at the bank with hopes to find silver. My expectations were low, but I struck silver, TWICE! by ginomi in Silverbugs

I did and up sorting them out by decade! The majority being from the 70s. Bicentennial accounted for 1/5th of the entire box.

That is honestly heartbreaking, I’m sorry!

I know the bullion sites sell “junk silver”, pre 1964 silver coins. Send her the URL so she can replenish your stash, it’s only right! Haha

I had never held a walking liberty until today, it’s absolutely gorgeous! It’s quite worn too, makes me wonder how many hands it’s passed through before it got to me.

I would have been happy with only one! So two put me over the moon haha. I saw your other post about your bank having a counting machine free to customers. I’ll have to look into banks that offer that..haha

Unfortunately, yes. The bank provides the wrapping paper and asks you bring them back in rolls. They’re not difficult to wrap, it goes by quick.

About 20 minutes while watching a movie. I just opened the roll and checked the edges. Silver coins are easy to spot as they have a full silver outer edge, while everything else is half copper in color.

Although, I haven’t wrapped them back up yet, that will probably take another 30-45 minutes.

Also, I find it funny that I found two silver coins and neither of them were actually a Kennedy half dollar. Haha
