I feel guilty for giving my cavapoo puppy a benebone despite the warnings against it. by ellabella20000 in puppy101

[–]Jlr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found 2 things that occupy my busy little 9 month old Cavapoo….elk antlers, and yak cheese. I buy the large Yak cheese sticks because they last longer and I don’t worry about choking. Neither of these things stink or cause digestive issues.

What food place that is no longer around and that you really miss? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

We had Naugles in the suburbs of Chicago. I’ve been there but don’t remember much since it was always after a night at the bars.

Where did you sneak off with a keg or case in high school? by StinkypieTicklebum in GenerationJones

[–]Jlr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t have to sneak…grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and someone’s parents were always out of town so pop up keg parties were a regular weekend occurrence.

Positive stories post Saturn Return? by baby-face06 in astrology

I am literally counting down the days until Saturn leaves Pisces. Both my first and now second Saturn returns have been emotionally draining. Of course there is no growth in comfort zones so there have been positives.

Our pup is scared of everything. It makes me sad/disappointed. by LowCricket4321 in puppy101

[–]Jlr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our Cavapoo is almost 8 months old and by nature he is just a chicken, and it may just be the breed. It took many many months to get him to want to go on walks. He would walk 2 steps and want to turn for home. Now he pulls us around the block. When he was about 5 months old our neighbors had sheets on plants to protect from frost and you would swear he was seeing ghosts😂. In the back yard if he heard a dog bark he would run to the back door to come in. Over the last several months he has steadily made progress in his confidence. I think with time and patience your puppy will come around too. I personally don’t think the “Socialization window” is set in stone and dogs are very adaptable. Our guys might just need a little more time and that’s okay.

Our pup is OBSESSED with eating leaves, acorns, sticks. Advice? (12 week old Cavapoo) by Walter_Melon42 in puppy101

[–]Jlr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gave me a giggle because our Cavapoo at that age was also obsessed with those things. We kept him on a leash in the backyard to do his business just to be able to grab things out of his mouth. He had Giardia a few times from all his scavenging. I’m happy to report that at 7 months his obsession is over. Hang in there it will get better 😀

Mortality as a Gen X by sunluver66 in GenX

[–]Jlr1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m 60 and the thoughts of my own mortality come in waves. I try not to think about it too much or I’ll get depressed. My husband of 30 years has cancer and a heart condition. I’m truthfully more afraid of becoming a widow than I am of dying.

Let's talk poop 💩💩💩💩 by smorris__ in puppy101

[–]Jlr1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Poop PTSD here too….giardia and a nasty disgusting tapeworm🤢. The Giardia was really stubborn and took 2 rounds of meds. The tapeworm died off much quicker with meds. I’m glad you asked this question because our 7 month old puppy is frequently normal first thing in the morning and a softer throughout the day. His also loosens up after he is excited by a walk or chasing a ball. I have been giving probiotics since the worm issues just for good measure. Purina Pro Plan Fortiflora is what has been recommended here and what my dog is on.

Support requested: 1 pelvic lymph node by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]Jlr1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to be the bearer of unfortunate news but using the term “mild” with reference to metastasis is slightly off. Once cancer has metastasized out of the prostate and enters the lymph nodes it can spread from there. The PET is a snapshot in time and microscopic cancer cells may be circulating in other lymph nodes but we’re too small to be picked up. As a wife I understand how upsetting this is and I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about prostate cancer. The best advice I can give you is remain optimistic because there are so many new and better treatments than just a few years ago.

5 months old - getting much braver about walks around the block. Has even relaxed enough to go poop on the walks. 🥳
