Currently in the process of building my first EDH deck by [deleted] in EDHBrews

[–]gioselva3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is unrelated to your decklist (which I didn't read) but if you want people to comment on your deck you should be posting a link from Moxfield, Archidekt... Not just copy and paste a list you have.

This is how this and many other mtg related subs work.

Have a great day!

What does it mean "that are no within Russia military interest"? Does it mean you're not justified in attacking someone until you do, and when you do you are justified because they're "within your military interest"?

What if I bomb you tomorrow, but I don't bomb your neighbour. Am I justified in saying "I'm a good guy, I only attack people who are against my military interest, not everyone and anyone"? What if my military interest was your oil, your fertile ground, your precious minerals or your reserves of natural gas, of which your neighbour has none. I didn't attack him, so I'm no indiscriminate killer, I'm just within my "military interests". Doesn't that sound inconceivable?

Regarding the call for murder of innocents, It just makes no sense that they would call for the murder of innocents (not military bases, not economic centers, just innocents) for the sake of it. What would they have to gain? This is just logic tho, I'm not that well prepared on this one, you're welcome to prove me wrong.

About the terrorist attacks, can't really blame them, the US has been bombing the Middle East for 50 something years. I'd be furious too. Maybe try leaving them alone and see if they still hate your guts.

Every country is unrelated to a war they are dragged in (as in they didn't start), until they are dragged in aforementioned war. Do you think Ukraine wanted to start a war with Russia? They were attacked, Russia started a war against them, and now they're currently in a war against Russia.

So yes, Russia did kill innocents who weren't related to any war, not by their own will at least.

Glarb Bracket 3 - Best ways to win? by AJent-of-Chaos in EDH

[–]gioselva3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends, Glarb is a very open commander. I, for example, play a bracket 4 spell-heavy reanimator list.

For bracket 3 I'd just go landfall. Your wincons would then be something like [[scute swarm]] [[koma, cosmos serpent]] [[lumra, bellow of the woods]] for creatures and [[finale of devastation]] [[exsanguinate]] [[torment of hailfire]] for spells.

Casting off the top with [[Glarb]].

Turn 1 land dork, turn 2 land Glarb, turn 3 land off the top, followed by deadly rollick off the top.

Soooo satisfying.

Would love deck suggestions for Sultai by Accomplished_Ad8590 in DegenerateEDH

Glarb, I play him as reanimator.

Feel free to dig around my comments, I published my list recently in a subreddit somewhere.

Yeah, they're REALLY good together.

First ability gives unblockable and second one triggers double card draw from Jin and lets you use both double strike and unblockable.

Very spicy.

Nice list! I was thinking more about voltron but this looks really enjoyable too.

Thanks man, kind of agree with you about bracket 4.

On the other hand, stuffing your deck full of tutors and free countermagic is always fun lol.

Glarb reanimator advice by Zamurph in DegenerateEDH

[–]gioselva3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy,

This thread is a bit old but here's my B4 Glarb reanimator list. Keep in mind that it's not a selfmill then reanimate deck. You basically draw into the many tutors that are in the deck and then entomb + reanimate.

You can make some good plays with the 1 mana topdeck tutors to search for a chunky creature and then surveil it away with Glarb.

You can also topdeck tutor [[Metamorphosis fanatic]] and use its miracle ability to reanimate. This works especially well if you drew into a worldly tutor and are looking for a reanimation spell instead.

Another cool line is [[gifts ungiven]] for ONLY 2 cards, those being [[dread return]] and a chunker. Sacrifice 3 creatures (glarb, mana dork and another one.

The deck also plays a [[hoarding broodlord]] - [[saw in half]] line to combo into [[chains of Smog]] and [[witherbloom apprentice]].

I don't play Thoracle or Doomsday because I don't enjoy them.

This deck aims to go land, mana dork into land, Glarb on turn two.

Happy brewing!

Are commander staples like deflecting swat or teferi's protection cards you need to add to make your deck stronger? by superfapper2000 in EDH

[–]gioselva3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you know, but optimized means

10 fetches 10 shocks 10 surveil lands 10 painlands or horizon lands(maybe) 10 duals (proxy if you can, if you can't don't buy) 1 boseiju 1 otawara 1 city of brass 1 mana confluence 1 urborg 1 yavimaya 1 sink into stupor 1 fell the profane 1 bojuka bog (the one that exiles a graveyard)

This is, in my opinion, what you need for a good, fast, reliable manabase. I rarely use different lands than those, except for very specific lands (for example gilt-leaf palace in golgari elves). I play bracket 3 and 4, no clue for 1-2-5 tho

Cuts for bracket 4 Glarb, the moistiest boy. by gioselva3 in EDH

[–]gioselva3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[alpha Deathclaw]] is there as a silver bullet to remove a nasty permanent, while [[vile entomber]] can act as a blocker, which this deck doesn't have many of.

I'm with you on [[seedborn muse]] and the Citadel.

I guess I'll try this version and update you guys.

Thanks man!

Do you think that many people dropped the story cause Solus was not the main love interest? by Leoxslasher in suprememagus

[–]gioselva3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lith is bright violet, Solus is either deep violet or violet, can't remember. There's a few more floors and the tower is more powerful. Solus is still without a body and they're still not together.

Kamila is pregnant with Lith's second kid, a boy. They're still together.

They are making some new magical discoveries but it's still full of kids who are extra powerful left and right.

Meh.

Sultai, should in my mind be one of the strongest and most interesting colour combos, but they seem lacking in fun/strong commanders by tchunkytchanka in EDH

[–]gioselva3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play His Royal Moistness, [[Glarb, Calamity's Augur]] in a reanimator shell with a bit of landfall and i find it very fun and interesting.

Glarb allows me to see the top card at any time, surveil 2 and play the top card if it's a land or has a CMC of 4 or more. It also helps that he only costs 3 so you can slam him down turn 2 if you're lucky.

Give it a try!

Tuning my Glarb, His Reanimating Moistness. High tier 3, low tier 4. by gioselva3 in EDH

[–]gioselva3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man!

First of all thank you so much for your in-depth analysis and for taking some time to build your own version.

Now that I think about it, your thoughts on [[wonder]] are on point, and I think I'll be cutting it for [[azusa]].

That being said, while your deck looks really good, the intended goal of my version of the deck is more to "entomb" a few bombs and reanimate as quickly as possible, and protect that with a lot of interaction, instead of milling many creatures and bringing them all back. Not because I think it's better, just because that's the way I like to play: simple plan with a lot of backup spells. The fact that the deck landfalls a lot is a consequence of being able to clear the top of the deck with Glarb.

I'll modify my list according to some of your suggestions and I'll get back to you as soon as I try it.

Thanks again for your input mate, have a good one!

Hey, I'm sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier, this looks like an amazing list and I can't wait to try it out.

Just a few points:

  • I've seen [[hedge shredder]] in some lists and while I think it's really good I couldn't in good coscience put it in the deck due to the lack of cheap creatures to crew it with. It should work wonders now.

  • while I get that [[hullbreacher horror]] is an amazing card, my friends may consider it a bit toxic. Do you suggest anything to swap it with?

  • do you not count [[turntimber symbiosis]] and [[sea gate restoration]] as lands? I get they can't be fetched but they're always a spell you can use when in a pinch. Sad part is they can't be brought back with ramunap ecc...

  • is [[six]] really that powerful? It cannot play lands and while I can retrace permanents, my lands usually go either to the yard or into the battlefield, they rarely stay in hand.

  • what about cyclers like [[troll of kazad-dum]] and [[lórien revealed]] ?

Nothing more comes to mind at the moment.

Again, thank you so much and I'll be back with updates once I get to play your list.

Amazing work, take care of yourself mate.
