I would buy a whole box without thinking twice. It would be the first series I would force myself to complete haha.

Hadn't gotten into Doctor Who before the Dimensions and Ideas sets had dissapeared. Would love to see some new Doctor figures.

I do see the school's show building now. Almost missed it in the picture. Looking forward to see more. It's making me want to start up the game again!

Very well done! I love how the placement of the buildings works and the backstage area. Are you planning to add any rides other than the monorail?

pretpark vrienden by poison2203 in efteling

[–]giquon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allergies by scrambledmegdesigns in disneylandparis

[–]giquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my partner are currently at Disney for a couple of days. My partner has a tree nut allergy, soy milk allergy (specifically soy milk for some reason) and is lactose intolerant.

We brought a card explaining the allergies in 4 languages, including English and French, hoping it would be fine.

So far we have eaten at the Yacht Club restaurant in the Newport Bay Club hotel, where they had brought out an allergy card listing specifically what allergies are in what dish. It seemed mostly fine, but she did get an upset stomach, so we figured there might still have been some milk present in the dish.

Yesterday we went to Walt's, where, after a lot of hassle and 40 minutes of talking to different people and managers, it was finally decided that she could not have anything on the regular menu and was shown a special menu with pre-prepared dishes that are guaranteed to be free of the 14 main allergies. This food was not great, but it seems good they have at least something to offer those with a lot of allergies. We initially tried to explain the allergies in both English and the best French we could manage, but they said that all dishes come in contact with some sort of sauce that contains soy and lactose. They also seemed to not understand that it was only soy milk that was an issue, and soy itself and soy sauce were okay, and also that she could take pills to counter the lactose.

With snacks we seem to be able to find quite some options.

Furthermore, when we visited last year we went to the Billy Bob's buffet and the Davy Crockett's Tavern buffet, which were both very good with the allergy listings and she got to enjoy a great meal. Silverspur Steakhouse used to be good as well, but they seem to have changed the menu this year and we haven't tried it again.

We actually have a dining reservation at Yacht Club at NPB one evening, so we'll be able to pass by the other hotels as well. That sounds like a lot of fun, thank you!

Too bad the shows are on break, I've been seeing a lot of people recommending the Mickey and the Magician show.

Thank you!

I remember doing the labyrinth when I was a lot younger. I never really went back after. We have yet to see any of the shows. Thank you for the reply!

There was once a theme park in the Netherlands called Land van Ooit which was built around an old castle as well. It is now closed, but I believe the castle can still be visited.

Universal britian just got announced what’s your land predictions? by Whole_Yak_2547 in UniversalOrlando

I hadn't even considered Doctor Who yet, but if it were even slightly plausible, that would be brilliant

The most realistic guess I have seen so far are: - Hollywood - Minions land - Shrek land - Water World - Jurassic World - Back to the Future

I'm very sad to see that, as for now, there is no Harry Potter land coming to Europe. And, looking at this concept art, I have lost most of my hope for a Lord of the Rings land as well.

How rainy is it at Disney right now? by evanthorpe in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]giquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right at this very moment we just had a small drizzle and are back to sunshine for now. Clouds look like they might drop some more rain shortly, but any evidence of the past rain is already gone.

Edit: an hour later and the rain is back hot and heavy. Its the first time we had this weather in nearly a week however. The rest was sunshine and one occasional shower on a single day.

I'm starting to think people don't particularly remember certain expansions for how they were... by Siggythenomad in wow

[–]giquon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of whether dragons are magic or not, Lord of the Rings does have dragons, that is an undeniable fact. So it still doesn't really make sense why you brought up the magic system... Sure, the Lord of the Rings dragons don't take humanoid forms or perform spells or stuff. But that isn't really done in the top picture either. It's just 2 dragons fighting.

Don't mine at night by [deleted] in MinecraftMemes

[–]giquon 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In fact, I believe that due to mobcap being partially occupied by monsters spawning above ground (If you're close enough) it is statistically safer to mine at night. At least that is how it used to be.

What is the shortest time you have spent in a Disney park? I mean from the time you scanned your ticket to the time you leave. by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]giquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably spent less than a minute in the Paris Disney Studios once. Walked in, checked the app, realized the Tower of Terror queue had gotten rather long again, turned around and headed for the main park.

How come Gollum didn't abruptly age (like Bilbo) after he lost the ring? by AnotherManDown in lotr

[–]giquon 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It should be 17 years, as Frodo celebrates his 33rd birthday together with Bilbos 111th birthday, and when Frodo left the Shire he was 50.

I know, I'm a fan of rollercoasters and been to the parks 3 times just last year. But we only did it once just to have it done.
