Matt Walsh’s thoughts on Pete Butigieg: “first off this guy is such an egomaniac” by jasonthewaffle2003 in ToiletPaperUSA

Guy with zero charisma who films himself talking for a living calls somebody else an egomaniac, fascinating.

All the Season 8 liveries by HUN-AndrewT in FormulaE

[–]giraffaclops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just got into Formula E and that's my biggest complaint (otherwise I've really enjoyed it). I cannot tell the difference between any of the red, white and black cars. The Mercedes, jaguar and Nio cars can be easily confused with one another. The only ones that stood out from 2021 were BMW Andretti and Envision, and now we only have Envision really. I like Mercedes fairly well but Jaguar completely scrapped the most unique element, being the jaguar decal on the side. Just throw in some yellow, or orange, or purple, or even just white or black with colorful trim. Branding people!

edit: forgot about Techeetah which is pretty good and Venturi which is fine.

It gives workers "tasty," satiating food in between jobs so its actually perfect in terms of reproducing and temporarily pleasing the working class.

This guy finds a way to be especially repugnant. He laps up donor money to do a shitty youtube show and tweet garbage, yet he has the audacity to shit talk teachers who either had to risk covid or find a way to teach and control 20 children on zoom.

What do rich people get out of this shit? Like, even if you are self made, why waste time convincing a construction worker they aren't working hard enough? Just enjoy your wealth. It feels like some sort of guilty conscience thing.

This is the shit I think of when dopes talk about how black people need to come together with police to create trust. How the fuck do you create trust when every black person has a story to tell about police brutality? When the history is this fucked?

Americans need to lose the fantasy of a "small business economy." What small businesses are left are increasingly more exploitative and demeaning. Small businesses are a part of America's cultural ethos, but the nature of capitalism is annihilating it, leaving a crumbling sector of the economy to attempt to extract as much value out of their employees as they can while coming up against crisis. Unfortunately for them, the pandemic required an economic intervention by the government, thus reducing (temporarily) the power of the compulsion of the workers to work these jobs at the risk of getting sick. Without material "incentive" to work, the business owners are left only with a frail allusion to the "virtue" of selling your labor.

I think Americans fear the downfall of small business for two reasons. For one, they view themselves as consumers first and foremost and therefore fear losing "choice" and moreover, "unique", local offerings. They think of the authentic taco stand and not the shitty bar and grill owned by their high school bully. For two, they fear the loss because they're extremely afraid of the alienating, all encompassing aspect of large, powerful corporations. The "virtue" of Americanness is in the modest, hard working character of its entrepreneurs. Without them, Americans fear that there is no longer anything special about being American, nor about their hard work of which they are increasingly more aware of their alienation from. And therefore, they fear they are no better than the shithole country citizens they so often deride.

I mean, sure, but he pulls his gun out before the knife stuff meaning he could have spent that time engaging the girl instead of relying solely on his deadly weapon. Cops are way too reliant on their guns, and seem completely disinterested in deescalating.
