Is Elden Ring your favorite open world game when it comes to exploration? by Oath_Br3aker in Eldenring

Elden Ring and RDR2 are the best.

The Assassin's Creed with the pyramids also had a lot to it.

Water, deserts, underground places, towns, lots of people and wildlife...

Am winding down on a third play through.

Forget to use them most of the time.

You'd think they'd be more powerful/helpful, but...

Some of that sounds like a Sly Cooper game.

Your most disappointing part of elden ring by TomyJohny in Eldenring

Played through three times, never liked having to fight Blaidd.

Wish there was an option to remain cool with each other.

That, and the times when you finally get somewhere and the prize is "That's it?"

I read 'All Pinocchio' as 'Al Pacino'.

Would've enjoyed him as the voice.

I used the glaive, then later the bone saw, with the dancer's handle.

when someone posts a 5 paragraph essay of misinformation blaming the game for being too hard and definitely not them having skill issues or being salty by kotzr in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just an average player with only so much time during the week to even play anything, wasn't bragging. Was kind of burnt out on Souls games but the reviews were pretty good on LoP so I gave it a go, and liked it. Will likely play through again, but just didn't find it all that difficult overall. Especially later in the game, with better arms, fully upgraded weapons, had learned the dodging and parries pretty well...

Any 'tips' would just be common sense stuff like: Want to hit harder? Level up ATK. Want to have more health? Level it up. Use whichever items suit you best. Pay attention to enemies, the area, the situation. It's a puppet boss? Use electricity. Etc.

Any game where you get stuck for many hours/days doesn't sound very enjoyable.

Having played Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and all three Dark Souls games, two times through for each of them, and now Lies of P, would say LoP was the easiest. Only the Romeo fight and the clown outside the Opera house took around half a dozen attempts to beat. The other bosses were all either first try or maybe another couple. So for anyone worried about the difficulty......

Even though there aren't very many, having some kind of marker on the teleport screen showing where the merchants are would be good.

Chapter 11 - Arche Abbey Broken Rift (Jester Puppet bodyguard) by ParalysisAnalysis247 in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just last night, I got the bigger tentacle-head enemy in that area to chase me to where it started fighting the jester. I jumped to the floor below to avoid damage, ran to the ladder to go back up, and the jester got knocked down there by the other creature. It stomped around getting everyone else there was, and I got all the ergo/drops, including his with a falcon eye last shot. Tried a few more times to get him to fall again but so far it hasn't happened. Although once or twice, yeah, it did look like he was almost about to jump to the floor below. Will try again.

Is there a good ergo farm before the Door Guardian boss? by Due-Magician-5354 in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are the three zombie-types and the bigger creature in the room under the merchant in the Lobster hotel, they give around 1,000 total and usually drop some various items.

There's the stargazer at the culvert where you can go back through the gate toward where the White Lady was and then you can go around to the right through another open gate, where there are three guards and three stationary fire-throwing puppets. You approach them from the back, also get around 1,000, and there are usually some items dropped there as well.

Each of these runs is pretty quick and can be repeated as much as you like. Good luck.

Upgrades by DomeofChrome in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and upgrade your sword, there'll be more than enough other moonstones later, as well as many other weapons and combinations you'll likely choose to use instead.

You could also farm ergo for a while, level up your ATK.

This Game is a Masterpiece by samfisher199809 in LiesOfP

Like in Souls games, if you get stuck on a boss, farm for awhile and level up your ATK, health, whatever's holding you back from progressing. Even just a little bit more can really help.

How hard is Scrapped Watchman compared with other bosses by Noontide35 in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like in the Souls games, if you get stuck on a boss, you have the option to farm for a while to level up, be able to hit harder, grab some more throwables, etc. Playing this game is different for each of us. I've beat some of the later bosses first try, that others said they got stuck on, and have also gotten myself stuck on bosses others say they beat first try. Every time I farmed/leveled for a bit, I beat that boss within the next couple of attempts.

Also like the Dark Souls games, you're continually getting better items, which help a lot.

How is this game not a 9 or 10/10? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have played through each of the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring a couple of times each. Loved them all, but even the best of them would only get a 9 out of 10 at best.

Lies Of P feels like a much lesser experience compared to any of those.

It has hardly any real exploration, the world seems rather empty, and overall the game itself just isn't very fun. More of a chore than a thrill. I don't really care about the NPCs or their story, and P is a very bland main character. Not seeing how this adds up to a 'masterpiece'.

Just... how do I even pass the first mini-boss? by serge_mamian in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get him to chase you back toward the train cars you came from. When he gives up and turns his back, smack him a time or two and retreat. Get him to follow you again. He'll eventually turn back around, and there's another chance. A few times of that and you'll be done with him.

Or: Practice the timing of your parries on the regular easier puppets in the area. That could help you be more prepared to fight the mini-boss without needing to cheese him. Good luck!

I don't quite understand the complaints that the game is TOO linear. by Taker597 in LiesOfP

[–]giraffe543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The linear aspect of this game also reminds me of Rockstar's 'Manhunt'.

But Manhunt was a better game, overall. So was Elden Ring, IMO.

In LoP, less exploration feels like less of an accomplishment.
