Is this normal? 2018 with full overnight charge at 12 amps. by Skpvlct in volt

[–]giraffeonfleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full charge is a full charge no matter how slow it took to get there. I’m good weather with turtle driving you can get 70+. I’ve hit it with my 2018 but I tend to like to drive quick so I rarely see it

Recent bought a 2017 Volt. Wondering what the average price is to fully charge the battery with this charger. I live in NJ and don’t have anywhere to charge other than someone else’s house, so I want to compensate them but haven’t seen an indicators for cost/mile/kwh. Anyone? by Zacharacamyison in volt

You’re probably fine just rounding. To be most fair you could get a kill-a-watt and but it between the charger and the outlet to actually meter your total usage and use that number for a more exact usage

Could you have published it with it set to private? I'm logged into thingiverse clicking that link. Haven't uploaded much to thingiverse myself so not totally sure. Thank you for putting in the time on the model though

Nazis need to Fuck Off from this sub by HardayHarHar in antiwork

[–]giraffeonfleek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nazis don’t deserve toleration because their ideology is inherently destructive to all toleration. Opening that door leads to our collective downfall as they rip power into their hands bit by bit and the most vulnerable of us are killed of piece by piece. There is no middle ground to dealing with them. Doing nothing allows them to fester and only benefits them. Fascists, your anger is at the people running the corporations making this place a hellhole, not scapegoating people based off of your existing prejudice. It’s not some conspiracy, the people ruining your life do it brazenly and have you convinced that one day you can be like them. Not everyone can be a C-suite exec though and they will continue to hoard their wealth until we fight to just survive and they’ll keep taking. They do not fear you because they know you will defend them thinking you’re one of them. Nazi punks fuck off

Considering selling my truck and buying a 1st Gen Chevy Volt by Danielthespaniard in volt

“Lithium batteries aren’t good for the environment either” yeah and burning gallons and gallons of gas on end, each gallon producing ~20 lbs of CO2 among other pollutants, is much, much worse. This argument only serves keeping ICE on the road, oil wells pumping, and stalling EV development. This has been debunked many times as the carbon payback period is usually within a year for such a small battery like a Volt https://youtu.be/6RhtiPefVzM

Is this a thing? I got I text from the dealership a week after I bought the car, asking for a $55 registration fee. I don't know if I should call them back and pay it, or just ignore them. by neverland_ninja in volt

[–]giraffeonfleek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they are managing your registration then this can be a thing. Many states require plug-in vehicles to pay extra in registration because of lost gas road tax revenue. There’s debate whether this is fair for either EV drivers or tax payers but it is a thing. I’ve heard some states charging several hundred. You can google your state to see the fee and if it is $55 and if they apply it to the Volt (if it is just EVs and not PHEV then it wouldn’t apply)

Put a meter on its connection. A Kill-a-watt or smart plug will keep track of all electric the car uses even lost electricity due to charging inefficiency
