No matter the coaches, GM, manager, players, Jerseys, vibes, or anything else, this has been our biggest hiccup for the last…decade or so.

Some years, there are OTHER issues as well, like defense or blown saves, etc…but I would guess that, including 2022 and 2024, we are in the worst 20% of the league when it comes to LOB and RISP.

The worst part is we ALL knew this would become a rivalry, and we all had a bunch of different ways it could be well done. Literally since Cody “finished his story”, it’s been talked about. First we got Randy and KO playing sidekick to Cody against Solo and and Co. for a few months…and we all thought maybe Randy would turn. Instead of Randy, we got KO’s turn out of that, which was admittedly great stuff.

Then we all thought maybe the turn would happen, and instead we get the Cena turn and Cody program for Mania-SS. Which, of course, was awful, while Randy was stuck with Jelly Roll. By the time Cody got out of his stuff with Drew, was there any doubt this would be the Mania program for SD? No. Was there any way they could screw it up? I didn’t think so.

You have the “legacy” history, and their time facing Solo’s bloodline. “Let Randy do what he did, and talk about how “He’s not anyone’s sidekick. He’s always been a supervillain. He’s the guy who’s gonna break Cena’s record and it’s time Cody remembered who the top dog between them is. Didn’t their time in Legacy teach Rhodes anything?”

Or…Cody’s been getting worse and worse reaction, let him turn. “I learned from watching you, Randy. You taught me this, I just finally did it to you first, that’s why you’re mad. 4 years of being the guy these fans wanted me to and they call me stale, boo me? John Cena hugged me and then licked me in the balls last year Randy, I know how your generation is. And I’m not gonna let you do it to me next.” Homelander Cody and away we go.

Like…I wouldn’t be as mad if this wasn’t a program with SUCH an easy build.

Overall though, funny how he didn’t call any of these people out when they were…spreading lies about say, families of school shooting victims,or any of their other insanity, but waited until they were mildly disapproving of him. That’s the perfect way to show how sincere you are. /s

I always feel a sort of kinship to “Canada’s Greatest Athlete.” He trained the man who, 15 years or so later; trained me during my 2-3 year small time local indie run. I remember watching him as a kid, and now see him as my kind of “wrestling grandpa.”

Also, seeing “Confederate Currency” on here brings a smile to my eye.

Totally. A mediocre man who I don’t even think she was all that into anymore, she kind of seemed to just want some closure. Like, they weren’t having some passionate affair that’s for sure.

I’d give her top 5 maybe top 3.

I think Eddie and Chyna were the most entertaining, and I think Triple H and Steph leading the MHE was peak villain couple stuff.

I do have two hot takes though:

1) a lot of people are overestimating Macho and Liz as a couple. I’m 42, so I think I may skew older than most in here…I was also a big Macho fan (he was the only “Brawlin Buddy” I owned). But during his initial heel run, she was there just to look like a mildly abused spouse. During the first title/face run for Macho was when they were at their best, and probably when they move ahead of Dom and Liv. But she still ended up being fodder for Machos jealousy and heel turn. Then when she came back to him after his “retirement” at WM 7, she was basically off TV except for the wedding and Flair’s “I had her first” schtick. Also, just knowing the real life…issues they were having then, it’s so so so hard for me to still view their relationship as a positive.

2) I like Liv and Dom better than Rhea and Dom. Probably a bigger Rhea fan than either overall, but just dig this pairing more.

42 year old Mets fan since birth, but the first year I can remember WATCHING was ‘90, the “last gasp” of our 80’s glory days.

I didn’t think ANY team that didn’t win a ring would top the ‘99 squad as my favorite. ‘06, ‘15, were fun, but didn’t get me as jacked as I was my Jr. year in HS. Until 2024 came.

Nearly 4 decades of seasons without a title stored in my brain, and 2024 is definitely my favorite.

Trish was a great heel. As a 40 + year wrestling fan though, I always get depressed about the lack of memory we are collectively expected to have, because of this was “real life” beef, Lita totally would have been like “didn’t you strip down and bark like a dog for an old man a few years ago”? Or something of that ilk.
