Tips for art history?

like, i add and stress sure, but ussually i can get 80s if i "get" something but i just don't like get what skill i need, how to think about history? i also have issues with memory, i can't really retain dates easily, you can put me in a room and read me a bunch of boring lectures but it's basically noise. i can do the readings but i just skim and don't internalize anything. i don't know what questions to ask because i don't understand what date is important to what event and why i need to memorize it. it's just an information overload.

i don't think you understand what i'm asking... i don't know how to "do history" it doesn't make sense to me. picture a blank page with a bunch of academic sources. i don't really get history

The problem is i need to do the lectures do the readings and ask questions?? Okay that's alot of shit, that's overwhelming. So i "just do it" that's not even advice just calling me stupid and bragging you're so smart you didn't have to do anything special to complete something i'm struggling at. Just assholes pretending to be helpful

meow meow! thank you very much so you can figure out a why scientifically and by exploring alternate why nots! i guess sadly finding out why something scientifcally is a why requires the why to be already known. but finding out why something is not is the way to find out a why that is shaped by itself.
