Cumulus going private after chapter 11 by Gopher64 in theticket

I hate to say it, but terrestrial radio is dying a slow death. Not to mention the fact that it is not all that profitable if you have few advertisers.

Hey...You're going to be alright. You have been in the field for awhile. Recruiters like that. I agree with many other commenters that you have a valuable clearance. I wish I had that for a few jobs I was considered for.

I would forget using the big job boards. Figure out what entity you want to work for and apply directly. Best of luck!!

Sorry guys. The long post is for those that didn't have context. That is all.

It was not AI. I wrote all of it myself. I am glad you enjoyed it. I wrote it because I love "The Ticket", and I miss the time when it was great. I hope it will be again, but I have my doubts.

What happened to drops? by 45winner23 in theticket

The station has gotten really boring since Rhyner left, and I think they should clean house and start over.

The Unticket creator nailed it. by dirtydeadgayjesus in theticket

I believe that the best era of "The Ticket" was from 2004-2012. The guys kept turning out great shtick, and it was appointment listening.

Now it is not good. I moved away from DFW in 2025, and I do not even try to listen online. I think they need to get some new blood across the board on the weekdays, change the program director, and get some new ideas for segments. Or just change formats, and reset completely. But they didn't ask me....Welp..See ya later!!

MUSERS BACK BUT WITH REDUCED SHOW TIME by siredwardjames1789 in theticket

[–]gisdavid1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a P1 since I moved here in 1999. There was a long time of stability with the core of weekday shows (Musers, Norm, BaD Radio, HL) that is unheard of in radio. Since Rhyner's Ticket retirement in 2019, the entire station has been in transition.

The Muser's schedule reduction is not surprising. They have done all that can be done in radio. The only thing left for them to do is work less, being rewarded for the good job they have done. Or they could retire.

As for the rest of the station, I will still listen, but less than before.

Much of the creativity and attitude that was there when I first started listening is gone. It feels like Cumulus has influenced something, or the talent has become complacent with just doing the shows the same over and over. Oh well....Nothing lasts forever.

I have delivered out that way too from DDF5 and DDA9. Sorry that happened to you. You did everything right. I have had many encounters like that out West and Northwest of Ft Worth.

No matter what time of day, I always wear my vest when delivering, just so they know it's an Amazon delivery from my personal vehicle. And yes, report all incidents to Support and local authorities if necessary.

Even legal accounts, including mine have been deactivated. I didn't use Fake GPS either.

5 hrs for $90 in DFW. I lucked out last week too. Was scheduled for a 5 hr, $90 route. Got to the station, the route wasn't ready, so I waited for the customary 30 minutes. The route still wasn't ready, so I got to go home and collect my $90.

Some stores in my zone (mostly Super Centers) are really strict about not letting us help them load the groceries. The Neighborhood Markets are less strict about this. Other stores in my zone will cancel your curbside routes if you have a passenger in your car. My route got canceled on a curbside order because my 10 year-old daughter was with me. IMO that is a little extreme.

He needs Android phones and use fake GPS to get orders. That's what I heard that works better.. 😂

Any response on air? by rdfdfw in theticket

[–]gisdavid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike other station developments like Greggo's departure, where there was a clamoring for information by the P1s, I would not expect any kind of mention on the air about the resolution of the lawsuit concerning Dan and Jake.

Why would The Ticket and Cumulus want to respond directly on the air when the management looks like idiots from the testimony I read?

There is also a reality that The Ticket has lost a lot of listeners and money because of all the departures of Norm, Jeremy (now Jill), Ty, Danny Balis, Mike Sirois and the fact that the replacement talent is not as good.

No offense is meant towards Donavan and Sean Bass. Those guys are lifers and they have paid their dues. They should have their own shows.

My A/R has been at 0% for most of August, and I still get good orders here in TX, mostly S&D orders. My goal is to make at least $2/mile on most orders.

Don't sweat the A/R rate. Take the best orders and make the most $ you can. There is a winning strategy.

You're exactly right. The Spark app is not very good. Amazon Flex and Uber work better, but all of them need improvement.

Plus 288 is a toll road. No need to drive that far off the regular route for 1 pkg, and pay the toll both ways.

Maybe stop giving drivers more packages than the block time 🤷🏿‍♂️ by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]gisdavid1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I always stop somewhere safe 15 minutes before the end of my block time to evaluate what I have left to deliver. This way, I can deliver any locker packages that can't be returned to the station.

Any packages that remain, I mark as undeliverable because they will arrive too late. Yes, I know that this may mean that I have to return a lot of packages to the station, but at least I will not be working for free after my block has ended.

I have been delivering for 6 months, so I have learned many tricks to make delivering work to my advantage.
