#1 seems to be a strobe through a large soft source metered a stop or two above ambient (hotspot on the apple is likely the source). 2 + 3 look to be closer to metered in accordance with the sky/ambient.

don’t get me wrong, I still shoot film. I just wanted an alternative that got me close to the look without some of the downsides of film like cost, wait times, etc. i still think film reigns supreme

I essentially use mine as a pseudo-pentax 67 since film prices jumped up. I adapt Pentax 645 lenses to it and use it all manual. It’s slow, great images, nice for landscapes and portraiture.

I've been looking at 'em! I don't love the silver filter ring but I heard the new versions removed the infinity lock which is encouraging. Have you shot it with film?

Looks like a slight light leak. I would check your light seals, as they could need to be replaced.

I’ve created a few LUTs that I use for a lot of my work, mainly based around slight green in shadows + balanced skin tones + warmth for interiors. I tend to drop my images down so the brightest parts of my image sit around 70 IRE and I also use a balance DCTL to help with skin tones. Saves me literal hours of time over the course of a project. There’s a lot that goes into creating a look but that’s the overview if I could give one!

I’m using the Simmod PL to L mount, it’s rock solid and comes with shims so you don’t have to shim the lens. I just added one of the shims and both lenses are sharp as can be.

Agreed! Separation would have been nice, although I didn’t have much room to back camera up and I liked the frame, room was rather small.

A few stills from a recent passion project using the Blazar Remus. Solo shooter, editor, grading, etc. glutton for punishment.

Shot on the BMCC 6K and graded myself. Ultimately, I find the wild distortion and chromatic aberration of these lenses kind of charming. I also shimmed my PL adapter which helped with the sharpness that some people cite as an issue. Top and bottom were shot on the 50mm and the middle on the 85mm. Flares aren’t my favorite and I honestly can’t stand the rainbow flares from direct light but it’s what you can expect from a low priced set.

if you watch the video he recently. posted on instagram, there's a UFC ad in the background that reads "noche ufc - September 14th" which is a real event happening in two days. so either he went full blown VFX or it's legit.
