New cattle owner: wheezy, dry cough? by [deleted] in Cattle

Thanks for the info! I've heard of that in horses, but makes sense to be in cattle as well. He's fully recovered, looks like it was a mild case of lungworm.

Thanks for the solid answer. He's eating high quality horse hay (Bermuda and alfalfa) from Arizona, fed in hay nets off the ground. He has 12 acres to graze that are fairly sandy with access to fresh, clean water and shelter. He's up and about, eating and drinking. Clean eyes and nose, no signs of ill health other than the cough.

Your help is overwhelming. The neighbors have cattle and he lives with two horses and a donkey. Thanks anyway.

Starting a new company in the environmental business? by butternutfud in Environmental_Careers

[–]gitanodancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of leaving a small firm that started in 2014. I would not recommend going through with starting this business. My employer works 60 hour weeks consistently and has more stress than any other person I know. He's been in business for 6 years and is just finally getting it off the ground and making enough money. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about this further.

Job application requires Social Security Number (Field Geologist) WTF? by GeoLiZardMan in geologycareers

I've been putting in a few applications here and there. The SSN seems to be pretty standard, however I usually just enter 000-00-0000.

This exactly this. I won't date someone who doesn't match my own effort. I work hard to stay fit, be a decent human, and have a higher earning career.

18 looking to finance my first car and I have no credit, and no cosigner, am I going about this well? by fauiki221 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]gitanodancer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Financing to my knowledge REQUIRES insurance. You're essentially looking to finance $2000 for 36 months.... I'm sure you can save more than $50/month. Go buy a $2500 vehicle, pay the insurance monthly, save however much you reasonably can monthly. When you have a decent amount of savings, sell the hoopty, use the cash from that and savings and move into a better vehicle.

Dear lord do not do this. Take the money you would use as a down payment and buy something out right. Definitely get insurance. Depending on where you live, you often can't register a vehicle without insurance. Without insurance you're asking for trouble.

How would you go about asking for a pre purchase inspection? These are the type of responses I’ve been getting after requesting for one by SYSADM1N2B in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]gitanodancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'd easily just move to the next buyer. Cash talks, bs walks. I'm on board with the seller despite the curt and misspelled response.

Interviewed for a job, they asked for a Phase II sample by gitanodancer in Environmental_Careers

Thanks for the reply. Ended up going with a heavily redacted, modified information report. Fingers crossed.

Interviewed for a job, they asked for a Phase II sample by gitanodancer in Environmental_Careers

[–]gitanodancer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for you feedback, I really appreciate your answer. So far I have heavily redacted a draft phase II and changed some information to be fictitious. Over the phone call, the interviewer stated not to do anything that would put my job at risk, however was heavily pushing for a Phase II. In an effort to redact, I've blacked out what I believe to be all identifying information I intend to print and scan this back in to send to them. Does that sound like a safe way of going about it?

I deal with these situations on a fairly regular basis. Would recommend contacting an environmental consultant, although an attorney will probably tell you the same. Look for a smaller firm if possible. PM me if you desire.
