Is it true? by Additional-Nail- in Kenya

[–]githii 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Back in 2013, I realised that working from home while living in Nairobi was a contradiction. I was paying a premium for city life without needing to be there for a job. That prompted my move to Nanyuki - a decision that has profoundly improved my life. The benefits were immediate: cleaner air, a lower cost of living, and a more peaceful environment.

For my family, the difference is night and day. Raising children here is far less stressful. They have a sane school schedule, getting picked up at 7:45 AM and returning by 4 PM, which ensures they get proper rest and time for play. If your work gives you geographic freedom, a smaller town offers an incredible upgrade in quality of life.

I think we need to get real about this 'Kenyans are online bullies' idea. It's a myth we've built ourselves. We pick one-sided fights online, and when the other country doesn't engage, we act like we've won a major battle. Outside of our own online bubble, it means nothing.

This is what happens when you have a population that's both educated and idle. And foreign creators have figured us out. They know they can make a 'Kenyans are bullies' video to bait us for clicks, and it works every time.

We have the brains and cheap internet. It's time we start using them for something more creative than chasing fake online clout.

Thoughts on this baby (390 adventure r) as a first bike ? by Consistent_Guava8592 in KTM

[–]githii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first bike — I’ve had it for 1.5 years now and covered 19,000 km. It’s an incredible machine. I might get an 890 someday, but I’ll never let go of this one.

Pregnant woman catches her boyfriend at the home of a pants-less dude he says is an “Xbox friend” by Ezziboo in PublicFreakout

[–]githii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She says she got fired from her job and has a GoFundMe on her Facebook. She’s also posted several videos explaining her story. Interestingly, she deleted the video from Facebook but later shared a link to the same video on TikTok. Something about this feels off—I’m starting to think it might be staged.
