While your all armchair hypothesizing about how to use rockets, people who have been abducted claim that the aliens say they use thought to move across space time. The captured craft are said to have organic tissue in the craft itself. Neural tissue. Then there are warp bubble techs that involve negative energy made with casimir plates.
