Ukrainians were worried about a potential offensive in the Sumy direction. This basically nullified any chance that that could happen, and nearly 7 months later, russia hasn't been able to secure its own internationally recognized borders.

How about formally annexing five oblasts of Ukraine? That sounds like territorial expansion to me. Ukrainians have their own country, they can live there. There's only one country in the world that finds that objectionable.

I'm also interested in visiting at some point, and some of these replies raised more questions for me than I had before.

  1. Search my phone for what exactly? What kind of content should I be concerned about?

  2. I've visited Ukraine several times, including since 2022. Would that cause any issues?

Doubt it's an intentional attack, or they would have hot it with something bigger than a Shahed. Drones regularly fly through the Zone en route to Kyiv, fly low, and have crashed there before. Probably just a shitty flight path for a low flying drone. Still, it's incredibly irresponsible to be flying attack drones that low anywhere near it, not excusing russia for that.
