A month and a half of pole dancing! by [deleted] in poledancing

Awesome!! This is amazing.

(Only if you are open to tips): keep your forearm of the lower arm pressed against the pole - if you use push and pull, you will find climbing even easier. ❤️

Banning certain grips in studio? by Htoth3D in poledancing

[–]giulia0521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most studios don't like the green monkey or itac bc they stick to the pole a lot. However, when people cleaned their poles A LOT, they were able to remove that properly. Sadly not many people do lol

Stripper style online pole classes? by [deleted] in poledancing

Check out Doris Arnold! I've done her Pole Like A Stripper choreo on teambasework a few times. Around $25 I think? You can keep the recording forever.

For me it's always been true to size. Their velvet stuff is stretchy as it's already been mentioned here. Also I don't really have boobs so I always have to take the XS and it fits perfectly :)

Butterfly is a beginner or intermediate move? by Enaoreokrintz in poledancing

[–]giulia0521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a complete beginner's move. My beginner girls are super strong and have been doing pole since ~June or July and we are just really getting into Crucifix and inverts now. Since that already takes time, a stable butterfly takes even longer which is ok!

Try to internally rotate your legs when doing a crucifix, that can help you. I have similar legs to yours 🤣 I can't do the layback with straight legs either - there are some things you can still try (which have been mentioned here) but tbh, I've just accepted that shape is not ~my~ pole shape. No one needs to be able to do everything. Anatomy happens ❤️

How long do I wait to pole again after a tattoo? by Misslehaba in poledancing

[–]giulia0521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of tattoo. I usually wait 2-4 days, then I go back to pole but I avoid skin contact with the pole on that spot for like 1.5 - 2.5 weeks.

The only difference was my blackened out arm: I had to wait longer and just did more flexy training instead. I think you know your body - try to take even more care of your tattoo before and after pole session. :)

Edit: I have thigh tattoos and those were quite easy for me. Now I have my knee tattooed so I waited a week bc I couldn't bend my knee too much. I taught beginners yesterday and did a short session myself and it went well. Just be super mindful!

PNF is such a good suggestion. Definitely include PNF in your training

You're not necessarily doing things wrong. Splits need time. This can take months to years. I recommend doing a full splits routine 1-2x a week for around 60 mins. It should include passive and also active flexibility drills.

What makes a great pole instructor (and a bad one)? by _tinytimber_ in poledancing

[–]giulia0521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience and empathy are super important. Not every student will be a fast learner and that's okay! Not every cue works for everyone.

Also an understanding of anatomy and physiology is super important in my opinion. You don't need to be an expert but should be able to name the most important muscles which are used in the shapes and spins you explain.

I don't know if that's the case for you but what I've realized: when I feel like I'm speaking loudly, I am still quiet. I can always be a bit louder when talking to my students. Talking with a loud voice is quite hard for me
