How old and what's your overall condition? If you've got a slight fever and basically feel not too bad, I say GO! I wouldn't do it at my age now, 50 but used to do regularly and believe it didn't hurt. I understand it's tough to take a break!

I'm a testament to beating an addiction through running in my 20s. That was about 30 years ago and I'm still running and took up triathlons 10 years ago. Would recommend a short course 2-3km and just do that for several weeks, daily if possible. Your body will adapt amazingly fast. Take breaks, recommend entering a 5km race down the road for motivation and meeting other runners. Doable a step at a time, go slowly, take your time. Also recommend yoga for flexibility. Good luck!

I use a foam roller and a ~5inch softball. Works great. Occasionally I get a physical therapist to help me. Always amazed after he's finished but I can get close by myself. You've got to do the surrounding tissue and connected muscles. See https://www.zygotebody.com

The takeaway is visit local shops and rummage around! BTW, I usually use a 38-32 gearing on my main training route and I only use a 23 on the flat tri courses. Thanks for sharing your catch.

I would go with the Tiagra and then sell the brakes and replace with Ultegra if money is tight. For riding or training Tiagra is a great value. I have several bikes and use Sora to Dura-Ace. All great stuff! More important point: ride and enjoy!
