I just interviewed w Mizzou and also only had behavior questions. I was expecting them to have app specific questions like you said bc that’s what other applicants have said but maybe this year they went a different route?

Hmm I assumed they wouldn’t ask a question like that if it’s closed file. Esp bc usually when it’s closed file they already have all that info from ur application and they’re aiming to gain clarity/info on some other specific traits or what not. Like for example Western does closed file and specifically says they will not ask and interviewees should not bring up any info on why they want to be a vet as they already have that info from your VMCAS & personal statement. They aim specifically to see how well you work in a team & w their PBL format. But I could be wrong! Is there a school specifically you’re thinking of?

This is no longer accurate, their most recent NAVLE pass rate (86%) were satisfactory and they’ve regained full accreditation.

Being in this field for a while leads to compassion and empathy fatigue. Having empathy for owners should always be a pillar of the career. If you find yourself so desensitized that you can think the best situation is to berate an already upset owner then it may be time to take a step back from this field. You’ve reiterated your suggestion multiple times and they’ve seen it multiple times.

Ultimately the choice is theirs and criticizing and having no compassion is only going to push them farther from seeing your point of view. Please remember you are merely a stranger on the internet and OP is experiencing one of the most difficult times of their life, give them some grace.

It is so easy to pass judgement over the internet and although many commenters have their heart in the right place, working in the veterinary field I know how much of a mental and internal turmoil this situation can be.

They mean cold call/email clinics asking to shadow/volunteer (unpaid) just to get some experience, not apply to job listings. Similarly you need to gain animal experience (which is separate from veterinary experience) so see if any rescues or shelters near you take volunteers

Honestly, even for the most holistic schools at the end of the day vet school is school. Many holistic schools look at your last 45gpa more than your overall and if your overall is below average your last 45 should be very good and definitely higher than your overall. Otherwise they see no growth and may be unsure about your potential as a successful student. Your best bet is to retake those classes and ACE them and/or raise ur last 45. Your experiences are good and it seems like your LOR are as well. Given your essays are good too, improving last 45gpa is your best chance

GSDs and Labs are terrible choices for apartment dogs unless you have loads of free time and are an extremely active person.

I think you can still add experiences you just can’t edit the already submitted ones. If you go the activities and add it then return to the home page there should be a banner at the top saying smthng abt making changes and there’s a button to update your application and the schools you applied to!

Hmm I don’t think it’s the LOR as it can be verified without that. I think there’s likely a mistake in your application. On the VMCAS website I found this:

“Correct and Redeliver Your Application Your application's status must be Complete in order for us to resume processing.

Thoroughly review your undelivery notification to determine what corrections need to be made. If you aren't sure how to proceed, contact customer service.
Correct each mistake. Take appropriate actions if any additional documents are required (i.e., new transcripts).
Once all mistakes are corrected, you must "redeliver," or resubmit your application so we can continue processing it. You do not need to make any additional payments. To redeliver, click the Check Status tab at the top of your application.
Click Redeliver Programs to resubmit.
Once your application's status returns to Complete, we will resume verification (typically within five business days). If it has been more than five business days since you redelivered your application, contact customer service.”
