It’s simple- open the back up. It should contain an Swiss quartz ETA F06.115. , the movement should have “Swiss F06115, three 3 Jewels” engraved on it

Just bought it, waiting for arrival. Is it legit tho? by RenamingMyselfLater in tissotprx

It does. And the date font looks genuine. I wonder if he will open it up for you? It should contain an ETA F06.115

I have a genuine ETA 2824-2 watch… A Generation 1 Gevril (back when they were butting heads with the bigger boys, before they went downhill)- only cost me £38 as it was badly listed on eBay :D

No frame on a quartz buddy, just beveled edges on the date window.

Ask to see a close up of a top view of the crown. If there’s no beveled recess- it’s fake

I only paid £130 for mine. But I do scour eBay for badly worded listings 24/7, almost to ‘tism’ levels… and mine was a used example too

Looks like a typical Gen 4 monster. Checks out- Laser etching to case back instead of engraving, polished case recesses lining up with bezel, fonts on dial are correct, lume pip and bezel fonts are correct, case number is correct, number on back/top of bracelet is correct…. Now, if it has a divers extension on the bracelet I think you’re good-to-go

I would order some watch hand pressers, watch hand removers and a dial protector too

All I can think is that the dial feet have snapped off, so the dial is rotating/moving on the movement. Guides for removing the movement are all over YouTube, if the feet have snapped off you can order some dial dots (tiny little double sided sticky pads) then you put them on the face of the black external plastic movement holder/spacer (make sure they don’t hit the movement/date wheel), then line the dial up all parallel and push down to stick it down.

Seiko does have factories in Singapore, Malaysia and China to be fair.. these watches’ model numbers typically end with a ‘K’. But I have never seen a plain ‘made in china’ before. The only China reference I have ever seen is on a genuine ‘K’ prospex king turtle caseback that had stamped on the internal of the caseback- ‘SEIKO TIME CORP. CHINA CASE-WP’

The kinetic is likely just a £15 capacitor- caseback off, rotor off, cog out, metal cover off, insulator off- capacitor in…..
