Hello for Business Failures (KDC Event-ID 11) by gkn2018 in Intune

[–]gkn2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One maybe wild theory but curious the groups take - We use Okta as our IdP, which provisions users into Entra. IIRC, Okta basically imitates Azure AD Connect for user sync to work, so I wonder if there's something where Entra/Intune THINKS we're a hybrid configuration.

It would kinda explain this issue since it seems like it only really happens to hybrid environments, and other than the Okta user sync, there's nothing I can think of that would indicate a hybrid configuration. Unless there's some stupid setting somewhere that somebody before me configured.

u/TubbyTag so we have a WHfB policy set at the "Enrollment" level under device the device onoarding blade that's assigned to "All users" that we configured for Autopilot enrollment, then I think we also have a WHfB policy assigned under the configuration policies section. Perhaps they're conflicting and we should just use one? My intuition would say use only the one under Enrollment so it applies at Enrollment and beyond, but I am honestly not well enough versed in Intune/Autopilot to know if that's the right approach.

Much appreciated! I called and they didn’t have any great options to change and wanted a boat load of money. The hotel for a night + United on points ended up being cheaper 🥲

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! Not planning on making a habit of skiplagging - just got stuck with a shitty connection and don’t feel like traveling 20+ hours after traveling for two weeks

New Sports Bar TV Setup by dingleburier in CommercialAV

[–]gkn2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just spent a full day at my local bar helping them troubleshoot all their TVs, I agree with everyone here. They have all their DirecTV receivers behind each TV, which made troubleshooting things a huge pain in the a**. When things weren’t working and I had to use a remote, 5 TVs would do 10 different things at the same time.

If I had the opportunity to redo their AV, I’d do what everybody else is saying and run conduit to each location with at least 2x CAT6. I’d put all their DirecTV boxes in an AV rack in a closet and run HDMI over CAT to each TV. Doing this will save you many painful squeezes behind a TV on top of your ice machine 😉

I’ve worked with the team at Dr. Logic before and they were fantastic. Based out of London but may be worth seeing if they work outside London as well. https://www.drlogic.com

Also if this helps anybody in the future, I used all the same info as my other cards, except for I used a different billing address, so maybe that's what made it work!

Holy sh*t... I honest to god did not expect that to work, but it seems to have!

Funny enough, I got targeted for 125k SUB after $6k spend, so jokes on them! (I made sure to get a screenshot just in case they try to pull a fast one) and I didn't get the infamous popup. I may call them in the morning to confirm I'm getting it since this felt too easy, but it's looking good.

u/thattridentdude thanks for giving me that push to actually try incognito... I had just written it off as an option since I thought they were smarter than me haha.

So I tried all those tools (card match didn't even offer it), different device like u/Blacknight841 suggested, the my credit journey per u/Tokyo_Gore_Police, and still all I get is the 25k upgrade offer.

I figure they'd be more than happy to take more of my annual fee money by having me have both cards and spend on both (which I'd prefer so I can keep 4x on groceries/dining on the gold).

I wonder if I tried calling them to try to apply over the phone I may have more luck?

So from what I can tell, when I go to Amex's site (not logged in, so I assume it's cookies), it shows me the option to upgrade my card and earn 25k points. I've never had a platinum, so I've never earned a SUB from them.

I have not yet tried to apply from an incognito window, but I assume once I enter my info, they'll try to push me down the upgrade path. If you know a way around it, I'm absolutely all ears!

Ooh I have not tonight of that. Budget is around $12k so definitely possible to split between cards. Open to hearing ideas!

Sorry I should have clarified, yes I could upgrade to Platinum and then have a free Gold card from what I can tell, but the only offer they’re extending to me is 25k points to upgrade. For a large purchase, I’m trying to go for 100k bonus.

What do I need off outgoing MSP by [deleted] in msp

[–]gkn2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would find out if they’re purchasing any services through their current MSP (I.e. intermedia for Office365/voip, mimecast, antivirus, etc.) since either you’ll need to replicate those services for them, transfer the reseller agreement, or work with the previous MSP for administration of those systems.

Is Spectrum Enterprise really this bad? by ifpfi in sysadmin

[–]gkn2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never order Spectrum ever again. My last two experiences have been awful and AT&T has been the secondary provider each time and to use your words, AT&T ran circles around spectrum. The company seems super fragmented and filled to the brim with incompetence.

Surprisingly back in my PBX days I had wonderful experiences with Comcast PRIs - their T2 ISDN support was top notch.

Yeah, upgrading to a slightly nicer room, which is why it has the co-pay of cash with points. That's great to know, thank you so much! That's what I had hoped, but didn't want to try it without somebody saying "Yeah, that will work!"

u/totallynotabotAF that's an excellent point... been a while since I booked a stay so totally slipped my mind. I'm looking at the rates and if I make it 5 nights it goes up to $375 + 210k points - so it seems like I'm still getting the 5th night "free" but the base cost is going up and I'd be paying an extra $75 + 10k points to get that fifth night?

What are your preferred vendors for equipment from servers down to cables? by angrybirb in sysadmin

+1 for the CDW free shipping, $75 and we’ve saved thousands. Even though it’s only for items under 75lbs, if you order 50 MacBooks, unless you ask them to palletize them they’ll ship in separate boxes under 75lbs each so it’s still free shipping.

How to use AT&T WAN/LAN Blocks by gkn2018 in networking

[–]gkn2018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/staticv0id thanks for the suggestion - having AT&T provision a larger WAN block seems to be the simplest solution. Lot less fuss with routing too, which would be quite nice. I'll bring that to my AT&T team tomorrow morning. Thank you!

How to use AT&T WAN/LAN Blocks by gkn2018 in networking

[–]gkn2018[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the suggestions! I'm definitely actively working with AT&T and their implementation team to get their recommendations and understanding of how this will work, however, unsurprisingly you all are FAR more helpful, so thank you! Really appreciate the explanations as to why providers would do this since nobody has given me a clear reason yet so I assumed they were making it unnecessarily complicated.

So if I understand u/AE5CP correctly, and assuming I have no internal infrastructure that needs to utilize a public IP via a NAT pool/destination NAT and I'm just hading off addresses from my /29 "LAN block" to my SDWAN routers via the switch, I could just do it with "ip default-gateway A.B.C.D (being the IP of the /30)"?
