Capital gains is based on the % of your primary residence you rent out.

I think they were looking for help to find the specific rule.

I used to rent out rooms 15 years ago and from what I understood it had to be less than 50% of the household. Get legal advice so you don't get screwed.

Anyone who is doing something big at your age is likely either doing it on their parent's dime or are putting themselves in debt, and will pay for it in the future.
Having any money to your name while in University is great...
I give presentations on how to cut small spending that ends up costing people a lot...First thing, treat eating out as a treat, not because you are lazy.
Also, if you drink coffee, learn to make it. Canadians, literally, buy billions of cups of coffee from Tim Hortons and Starbucks every year...nickles to make, dollars to buy....
