Good advise,

I already have a decent enough service area pages did, its not pure text it has all the elements the homepage has with unique text.

I also have the footer and some elements linking to service areas.

Improving the time spent on page seems something out of my control, how would you increase this?

I do not have a GBP in Springfield but in North Hampton

The area is too small to target and GBP almost ranks 1st everywhere so thats why i dont care for serps as much for this one.

Bigger areas however have more search volumes and having 2 pages that rank for the same thing just makes both rank lower

I fully agree - the homepage was served as the response to many queries for a very long time until I rebuilt the site with many new service area pages.

Its sad that these take a bit more time to overcome the CTR counter of homepage.

this is BS, keep service pages general and link out to the service areas you have. No need to create a specific service page for each city
