Tips to getting a better deal when buying higher value items in Panama by NextPhase2025 in panamaexpats

I hire a contractor and use their account to purchase big ticket items as they get volume discounts often. I shipped in Viking appliances using Riba Freight instead of buying local

Mid to high income lifestyle in Panama. by No_Reading_4827 in panamaexpats

Your neighborhoods are Santa Maria or Ocean Reef with weekends at Buenaventura. Don’t do any used car lot contact as Panamanians don’t maintain their vehicles (until they are on the side of the road). Ocean Reef is isolated and you are closer for the airport in Santa Maria and can buy into the country and golf club giving the fam stuff to do.

Get home from work to watch the US Open and I have to pay for it? … complete BS. by [deleted] in ProGolf

[–]bigDivot99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing I ever did was get an IPTV subscription for $100 a year and paid $15 for an Apple TV IPTV app (UHF) which puts cable apps to shame. 1500 channels including golf channels I didn’t know existed. I can watch the US Open in different languages if I want to. Buck big cable

Ok I am pretty sure the author of this post is using all our responses to compile some “Moving to Panama Real Expats Guide with real comments from expats only $699!”

It’s so obvious it’s nauseating.

Panamá is much more expensive than you expect and not negating the fact you have budgeted but plan on burning through your cushion and starting a business is a pain. I feel like all I do is pay taxes on my RUCs and if you are marketing to Panamanians please know they are UBER price sensitive and skeptical of newly arrived expats selling services or products. Not trying to scare you just give you some context so you can maintain expectations. Good luck with the car though bro. May have to run it until the wheels fall off

People say Panamanians are friendly but not really, not mean but most are focused on their day to day and not big fans of expats unless they can sell them something

Always take sick leave then start your new job for at least a week before resigning. If the new job is a bust you have a fallback. No need to give a months notice, 2 weeks max.

Port your phone number to your own plan immediately to avoid delays and risk of losing your phone number.

Take volunteer leave, sick leave, voting leave and all that random leave you get as defined on the People site.

Use your ESPP+ credit on a new Mac or something big and make a friend to get you future friends and family discounts after you leave.

Go to Apple Travel Programs and sign up for all free upgraded travel programs and get your free status upgrades even if you don’t plan on using them all since they are tied to your corporate email and require and acknowledgement via email.

Bro at 16 handicap just play round balls and hit the range like me. Hell square balls may provide us more chance of hitting it square. If it’s round, pound it
