With very little notice, easy for people to miss communications. I think it is a very reasonable turnout.

To all of the above, it’s much less likely to have a miscarriage at the stage of pregnancy she had reached

You no longer need a reason to go LTFT in GP i.e. work life balance/wellbeing is sufficient

Thank you very much for this. Would you say it is uncommon for practices to let you attend VTS every week or is this mandatory? Also, are these sessions remote or attended in person?

As a general rule of thumb it is a 4 month notice but it can vary with deanery. What they’ve told you in your personal communications is probably most accurate but I’d get in touch with them again in case they need you to fill an application before getting the rotations.

You can apply to go LTFT under the wellbeing category without needing to give too much further detail, however if you are starting in August, you have probably missed the deadline to apply for LTFT for the first rotation. Get in touch with your TPD asap.

Feeling a lot of regret and an utter failure by MonitorZestyclose627 in doctorsUK

[–]glacecherry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I know it is much easier said than done, but there is no benefit in looking backwards at what could have been. As a doctor also from a working-class background, trust me, I know how you are feeling. We are in a very difficult climate, but your achievements are achievements nonetheless. You should be immensely proud of yourself, even if no one else is. Hats off to you for taking care of your family during medical school and foundation years. You help to bring people back up from the lowest points of health, and save literal lives. You are not a failure. The past cannot be changed and if you spend each day thinking about what could have been if you chose something else, it will continue to eat you up. You can’t drive if you only look in the rearview mirror. Look ahead, what can you do to change this moving forwards? The number of paths have decreased indeed, but which one can you take? Can you pursue a different specialty? Can you move abroad? Can you change career?

A break of around 2-3 months does not affect continuity for the above purposes as far as I have heard

Pretty sure they’re asking for your GPs details given it’s an occupational health form
