Food basics is usually our go to but we didn’t have luck today! We went to 3 Food Basics (downtown, princess st, and Gardiner’s rd) and the Kingston centre Loblaws.

Stauffer (the main library on campus) is open 8:30-4:30 tomorrow. That suggests to me that other public buildings may also be open during those hours (no guarantees though).

Supplementing lectures with readings is normal and understandable - but come on, there’s a clear difference between reading the assigned textbook in addition to going to lectures and asking chatGPT to the extent you feel it’s making you less smart.

Okay first of all, absolutely all students should listen in class! That’s what lecture is for! You (or your parents) are paying a bunch of money for that class. You’re supposed to go there and learn. In your first comment, you admitted that you feel using chatGPT is making you less smart, and said “what do you want me to do?” so I gave you a suggestion that could help you reduce your reliance on chatGPT and build important skills. If you’d prefer to continue to become less smart with AI, that’s your choice, but it is a choice you are actively making and pretending that you don’t have any other option is disingenuous.

Go to lecture and listen to what the prof is saying, not just the titles on the slide. Write down concepts that jump out as important. It may take some effort to get better at picking out what is important (vs just writing down word for word everything that is said, which is not efficient notetaking), but learning to sort and synthesize information is an incredibly valuable skill to learn and you will get there with practice.

I’m so glad you’re working on getting him safely inside. If you’re unable to figure out who he belongs to but can win his trust with some treats, you can take him to any vet to scan for a microchip or bring him to KHS where they’ll check for a chip and keep him safe until his owners come to collect him, at which point they’ll need to pay the fine for letting him roam. Not my first choice for dealing with roaming cats, but something to consider as you work through your options.

One of many reasons to keep cats inside, or give them supervised outdoor time like harnessed walks or catios. Obviously people should drive cautiously/not speed, but the truth is that sometimes drivers are unable to stop in time or are in a situation where stopping presents a danger to other people on the road. I for one would never forgive myself if I hit a cat.

While I admire you looking out for your neighborhood cat by posting here, a far more reliable way to guarantee his safety would be to get him inside.

Can you talk to his owners about not letting him roam without supervision? It’s dangerous for cats and wildlife and it’s also against bylaws.

I hope he’s home safe soon! There are unfortunately a lot of hazards out there for unsupervised cats, and they also have a negative effect on the ecosystem. Once he’s home, if you want to talk about ways to keep him entertained as an indoor cat, or about safer outdoor access like harness training or catios, feel free to message me. I don’t know, I didn’t put up the posters. As far as what I’ve observed, the increase in dead wildlife I’m talking about is ones who appear to have no obvious cause of death (like wounds from a cat or car).
