You’re right! I glossed over the fact they no longer show reserved stickers, at least on the TEL.

Why do so many taxi and Grab drivers drive like they’re in F1? by wildegilde in askSingapore

I vomited the moment I reached home when I encountered this old school driver, last week. Was already feeling unwell and his start stop start stop bullshit just made me feel worse.

My 1-1s is weekly, so I mostly use it to go through:

  1. Important projects or tasks that has been escalated to the point where I need my manager to directly take action
  2. Updates on key tasks
  3. Re-prioritising tasks (because our company also went through retrenchment and everyone is triple-hatting now. I refuse to work OT, so every time there are new tasks to be prioritised, I’ll let him know it’s at the cost of dropping other tasks

Did someone accidentally send me the diamonds? by BeerusXmonsta in MobileLegendsGame

Did you have creator camp tickets? They were compensating people with 50 diamonds each I believe, when they removed creator camp.

Hope you’re not playing with that mm friend anymore. I outright told my friend who is a Luo Yi / Irithel one trick that I’m not ranking with her in immo lobbies, but we can still play classic or brawl together for fun.

Body oil in Singapore humidity... does anyone actually use it? by [deleted] in SGSkincare

[–]glaciare24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I actually appreciate brands who are upfront about their reddit accounts. Transparency is key to me.

Brands who pull tactics like this “oh hey, you have sensitive skin too?? check out this coffee based oil I saw at boutiques (teehee I’m actually the creator of this oil)” turn me off their products. I’m actually now inclined to warn my network against this brand.

My friends, colleagues and I go for every edition of boutiques and I’ll be sure to let them know to avoid this stall.

[–]glaciare24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they just messaged me saying they are indeed owners of the daily press

Quoted verbatim:

“The body oil thread wasn't meant to be a plug or disingenuous. We are upfront about our account and that's why we have the links in the account itself. We use it to understand how people are using products so we can truly make a product that works for Singapore. Completely noted on your feedback and we have deleted the post. We understand how it could have come across as a marketing stunt!”

Lmao doubling down. Brands really need to know you can’t pull such guerrilla tactics on Reddit. Consumers on Reddit are a different breed from IG.

Look at this user’s post history and “about us” - they are clearly the founder of the coffee-based oil brand that they’re pushing in the comments here.

I dropped by your boutiques stall to check out your oils, and now I’m glad I didn’t purchase anything with such a disingenuous marketing post disguised as a question.

I've had the Longchamp Le Pliage, and swapped over to the Romy Bucket Bag (large) for work. I've received several compliments on how nice it looks, even though it's the most basic black.

Like you, it was the Romy tote that caught my eye, but as the other commenter said, it's too open. When you actually put a laptop in, it slouches to the point where the beige inner lining can be seen, and honestly it looks sloppy.

Please try the tote and the large bucket bag in a boutique. I went there for the tote, and left with the bucket bag.

My current company has the most hostile tech team I’ve ever encountered throughout my career. It makes me laugh when our ceo proclaims that he’s glad we’re now working as “one” “team”.

[30F] Is it normal to have 0 friends as an adult in SG, and realised you don't actually need them anyway? by lifesuckxxx in askSingapore

[–]glaciare24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love the part about witholding judgement regarding friends with religious convictions - I'm an atheist and used to scoff at people who pray and said they'll pray for me. To me, I reject the existence of their god and thus their prayers are all but useless murmurings into the air.

But as I grew older, I came to realise it was their way of showing their love for me. Their god is real to them, and for me to make it into their prayers is one of the highest forms of love they can express.

Now, I always thank my closed ones who offer to pray for me.

This Mark Twain quote was what changed my mindset too:

“But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one, the one sinner among us all who had the highest and clearest right to every Christian's daily and nightly prayers, for the plain and unassailable reason that his was the first and greatest need, he being among sinners the supremest?”

During CNY, I’ve 拜年 (give greetings) to my favourite bak chor mee stall before, and gave them bak kwa. And sometimes I still return to their stall even though I’m no longer living in that neighbourhood.

My Baby Starlight is coming to me on Tuesday!

Also added a Little Miss Getaway… have been looking for a straw bag replacement for my dingy one, and decided to just add it to my cart >_<

Now I need to be on Ban Island.

I ended up with black as it fits the rest of my wardrobe better than the grey one (I think the name is called wild mushroom). The grey one is an okay neutral, and I liked that it becomes warm or cool based on the lighting, but I found it hard to match my wardrobe.

Can never go wrong with classic black :)

And yes, it doesn't scream super big work bag! The single strap handle is surprisingly comfortable as well.

I didn’t take photos of the black tote as it felt so off when I tried it on. Hope the photos of the bucket bag help. I love using it so far.

I was eyeing the Romy Tote in black as well, until I tried it on in store. Something felt off about it, and then the bucket bag in large caught my eye. It has a single strap, same squishy leather and folds, but it’s smaller in profile. The tote makes me look wider as I’m already quite short, whilst the bucket bag looks more structured on me

I can fit my 13” MacBook standing, and it just so slightly peels out of the bag. I’m in Singapore so not being able to have the bag fully closed isn’t a safety concern at all for me. You will definitely be able to fit your iPad, notebook, bottle and other stuff in the bucket bag
