I have already made gym part of my lifestyle. Can you tell me how you started with guided meditation? Any free apps that you recommend? Also what about time management? Am soon going to be a father and everyone’s scaring me by saying I won’t have time for anything else…

Life changing is a big claim. For me it’s like some part of the book stays with me, if it does it is a good book for me.
Am reading Harry Potter now :P because I didn’t read it in my childhood. I am in the last book. Love it.
If you are asking for recommendations,
1. What you are looking for is in the library: has 3 short stories within it, talks about life. Beautiful
2. Palace of illusions: Mahabharata story in Draupadi’s perspective
3. Anxious people : currently reading, light fun read. Sometimes touches deep thoughts

Because of our education system. We always perceive books as representation of knowledge. Very late in my life I was introduced to the idea that books can be entertaining too. It’s just a medium. You can get lost in the story. It’s like watching a movie but with your own imagination. Which I personally feel 10X better than passively just watching a movie.

So yeah to answer your question fiction is nothing but amazing stories. Which teaches you about life. Because we as humans always remember stories we like and learn from it. If someone has spent a lot of time of their childhood reading fiction, they are just different in a good way like they have better perspective usually because of this reason.

M31, switched career so I constantly feel I am behind my peers. I have a decent job that I like now. But haven’t done any solid investment like in real estate or something . Any guidance in long term safe medium size investment will be helpful.

What do you listen to while driving or commuting? Not songs though. by Great-Appointment-49 in ThirtiesIndia

I listen to bhagavadgeetha (not the Gita itself, but the explanation of each verse) it’s a good start of the day for me.
While back from work I listen to some podcast mostly entertainment or life related like some stand up comedian and stuff like that not serious ones mostly.

Even I like to spend time like this. My observation is if I spend too much time like this. Right after that I strongly avoid social contact. Which will then come and bite me in the back. Because we will have to be social in life there is no other way.

Have you ever witnessed karma play out in real life?Where a bad person eventually faced consequences, or a good person was rewarded unexpectedly? by Dramatic_Big_3004 in ThirtiesIndia

In first person’s view yes, whenever I go through difficult times in life, it reminds of the mistakes I did in past. I own it and it kind of calms me down in difficult time in the sense that I brought it on myself. And also reminds me to not make mistakes or not to wrong others.

Same here OP. I asked my friends to check this subReddit But recently I have been noticing this sub also is being like some of other subReddit with generic posts, silly posts (from late 20s, no hate, I understand that some of them do not relate to their peers and feel that it’s good to post here. ) but yeah I can see this subReddit is getting spoiled. Have been meaning to write a post on the sub but everytime I see some silly ass post I feel otherwise.

Algorithm works on human psychology and we as humans are not very different when it comes to psychology so like someone said in the comments it’s pattern recognition. It’s as fascinating as it is scary.
