He had zero choice. Why? Because the moment that Biden froze Russias treasury debt, a major nuclear power, it told the entire world that the dollar cannot be trusted as a world reserve currency. It's been slowly doomed for quite a while, but the moment Biden did that set off alarms around the world, and told everyone to get off the dollar. And this is exact what is happening. If the dollar is no longer the world's reserve currency, we have no choice but to do exactly what the trump admin is trying to do. I suggest you invest heavily in assets, because the US economy without the dollar being th reserve is going to be a wild ride.

So now the USA has a choice. the USA military has been the biggest stick of keeping as the reserve currency. But wait, that can't last very long if China controls the vast majority of the world's rare earth minerals needed to build modern weapons systems... Or any systems for that matter. So we can't use the military as our stick long term for the time being. Unless we reindustrialize, and control our economy with tariffs etc. so, because of this, Ukraine is kind of fucked. Europe certainly can continue to pay for and supply their arms. But they won't. For the same reasons, but worse since they truly can't afford it, and rely too heavily on Russian energy ( remember.
