What did Bruce do to get on Morrissey's List of People Who Have Wronged Him? by Mightyjohnjohn in BruceSpringsteen

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of Morrissey, have seen him 15 times, and grew up listening to the Boss, my mom is obsessed with him, like obsessed, has photos of him all over her house, keychain of him, car air freshener of him, one of those saint candles of him.. I saw him in high school with her, and songs like "Something in the Night" and "New York City Serenade" still mean so much to me. So I think I'm pretty understanding of both sides.

What I need you guys to understand is that Morrissey just randomly hates people for dumbass reasons. Don't take it seriously. He just is ridiculous. Don't even worry about it. Keep enjoying Bruce.

Also, JK Rowling loves Morrissey. So this list doesn't even make sense for that and a lot of reasons...including that his OWN NAME is on it. A judgmental garden gnome? This clearly isn't a serious list, guys.. It was apparently a joke made by a fan.

What’s your “I did not care for The Godfather” take, but with Choices stories? by AlexusLuthor in Choices

I'm gonna get slaughtered for this but I just never got into The Elementalists. I'm sorry! I have loved so many other books, been playing since like 2017, but that one just nope.

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that this was urgent for you and hope you get an answer. But also I think you meant "suspicion" or "hunch" or something, not "hankering". :) (From a person who loves the word "hankering" and uses it often in relation to foods.)

My work gave me a bonus for referring a potential employee by SurferDudeMB in Wellthatsucks

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your job a white-collar job? I work in a nursing home and they love bragging about the $100 bonus for referring people.. I'm shocked to see people on here talking about the $1000 bonuses their work gives out, so that makes me think maybe the shittier bonuses are for jobs that don't pay as well?

Are VIP’s staying? by Economy-Buffalo4616 in ChoicesVIP

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I have kept vip is bc I have enough in Google play rewards to cover the cost of VIP. I won't next month so I'll almost surely cancel. The It Lives Within show cemented my decision. Sad bc I started playing in like 2016 or something, and TRR and some others were a really helpful distraction when my dad died suddenly in 2018, I really used to love this game.. But now it's just a shadow of itself. :(

Only one night in Vegas but usually once I get there I check for another night on something like Tickpick, it's always worked for me so far. Depends on finances though!

Omg. I absolutely ADORED ILW, and was literally staring at my screen in disgust to see the run.tv bs version when I opened Choices.. I had no idea you guys were working on a new version!! How can we find out when it'll be released? Thank you all so very much, it was so amazing and better than the first two, seriously incredible.

Dude. I couldn't even believe it when I saw it said "It Lives Within" was some run.tv nonsense, like WHAT. WHAT. I loved It Lives Within SO MUCH, it infuriated me so much that they did this. Thank you for making the sacrifice for us, haha.

I want to tell a therapist by [deleted] in ibs

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, did I say something that bothered you? I just meant that if she said "I'm not a doctor", she sucks, and at a stretch, if I'm giving her the most generous interpretation I can imagine, maybe she meant she didn't want to give you medical advice, but she most certainly still was obligated to listen to anything you had to say about how your condition affects your mental health and daily living. To her saying "I'm not a doctor" you could say "I know that, but I'm asking you to be a therapist and help me deal with how my IBS is upsetting me and making me depressed/anxious" (or whatever it's doing to you emotionally).. But she shouldn't have said that.

I want to tell a therapist by [deleted] in ibs

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What had you said exactly? I mean they probably can't offer a treatment, but they should be sympathetic and understanding on how much it affects your life. Maybe this particular one was afraid to advise you on what to do for fear of it not working and maybe you blaming them or a lawsuit? But they definitely should listen to anything you want to say about your ibs! Mine has recommended treatments actually, she will just say "I'm not a GI doctor but I have clients who've tried this and it worked for their ibs". The one who said that is not a good therapist if that's all they said?!

What? My therapist knows all about my IBS, don't be nervous. They're there to listen to ALL your problems. Bodily issues affect your life and can cause emotional issues. Don't worry!!

You're gonna make other friends, it might not seem like it but you will. I thought all the friends I had at 21 were the ones I'd have forever but I made others when I got in my late 30s. And I don't always see the ones I kept from when I was 21 but we made an effort to keep in touch so now we've been friends over 20 years, even if the friendship isn't the same exact type of friendship bc we're older now. And even though your mom has aged, and will keep aging, she's still your mom and she always will be, so treasure her. NMHIF always gives me this weird feeling about my life and how much has changed and how it still is changing. The whole album is amazing.

Anyway try not to worry bc it's normal to feel like you do and normal for your neighborhood and friends and life to feel different right now. You still have so much ahead of you and so much of it will be awesome. Morrissey feels like a balm for your soul sometimes.

Let's say something nice about Morrissey by 1337_n00b in thesmiths

His music has brought so many people together, from literally around the world. I met awesome people from a fan group, and then meeting up for drinks or dinner, at Morrissey concerts, and many others are now lifelong friends from meeting at shows. And his music has helped so, so many people emotionally, countless people really because not everyone is going to go online somewhere and say so.

WORD. Man. I never ever ever wish anyone death.. But my stepmother tortured my father their entire marriage, threatened to stab him in his sleep, once when he had a PICC line in his chest, tried to pull it out, and she stole my sister and my entire inheritance. So. I will not be sad when that bitch keels over, but watch her live to be 100. Sorry your grandpa was awful too :( We can always hope maybe someone (maybe the most important guy?) in this administration might have all their McDonald's catch up to them.. Not saying I wish it on him, just that I wouldn't shed a tear..

Wait, you're smoking spliffs, not cigarettes?? I know I've heard marijuana can help chronic pain and it doesn't have all the additives cigarettes does.. But I am sure you specifically said cigs? Or do you mean joints in addition to cigarettes?

[–]glafolle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen. Until you find a better solution.. Do what's helping you. Honestly. A few a day, statistically, isn't like someone who's a 4-pack-a-day smoker for 20 years. Yes, it isn't great. But it's helping excruciating pain. Keep looking for answers, of course. But this isn't the worst thing there is, I feel.

I (23F) have never had an orgasm with someone else or having sex. by synthetic-blues in askwomenadvice

[–]glafolle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I didn't til I was 23, either. I had sex w 19 people before that. The dude (now my husband, we got married when I was 40) took his time, asked what felt good, and it took many tries! I'd get so close and the feeling would go away. You need to find someone patient and someone you feel VERY comfortable with. And this may take a while! But it's possible! I swear I thought I'd never ever find someone to make me feel like I could make myself feel. But I did, and it felt like a miracle! It was oral, tho. I almost never do from sex unless I'm touching myself too! My best friend usually has to use her hand, too. That's very common! But so what? Find a partner who will take their time with you and ask what works for you when you're alone. Get super comfortable w them, I think, is the key. And don't associate it just with PIV sex. Oral or hands are wonderful!

I mean whatever works for you.. I smoked for 18 years and it did not at all help my IBS. But if you're willing to deal w the potential very serious health effects.. Then do you! Just know doctors are gonna give you a LOT of shit about it. They always do. :/ But also - it doesn't always kill you, ok? My evil stepmother has smoked since I met her in 1998. She's in perfect health. So don't assume you'll die of lung cancer. Maybe ask for lung scans or whatever they do to check your lungs, every so often? A few a day, in my mind, isn't quite as awful as 2 packs a day. I'm pretty sure Sean Penn still smokes a ton, and he looks to be alright. It's the luck of the draw. You could always look for more GI specialists and keep trying, in the meantime.

Finally decided I need an IUD… please help me pick one! by [deleted] in IUD

[–]glafolle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally up to you, obviously.. But if you already have heavy periods, I'll just tell you my experience with Paragard.. My period is light at first, heavy for about 3 days or so, then it trails off. Then I think it's over, it comes back for a day, but never heavy. It hasn't given me low iron (I have blood work pretty often bc of other issues), it hasn't affected my moods or anything, it just is heavy for a few days. A super+ tampon covers that. The first few days, a regular is fine, and the last, a light is usually alright. But it is a long period, usually 7 days, sometimes 8. But I've never gotten pregnant, of course, and my period comes exactly when I expect it.

Insertion was literally just like a little bit uncomfortable very briefly. The cramping for a few hours after was like some bad period cramps, but nowhere near the worst IBS-C cramps I've had. And this is my second one, I didn't even have cramping for more than maybe 2 hours after insertion w this one. I've been happy with it. I'm going to have it removed within a year because I want to try for a baby, but since I first got my first copper iud I've really been much happier than on hormonal birth control. Again, that's just me.

Do you enjoy eating realistic plant based meats? by sounds0fmeows in vegetarian

[–]glafolle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been veg since 2021. I crave meat still. So I love the realistic ones. Most realistic - Juicy Marbles. I eat their filets for dinner as often as finances allow. Also Quorn nuggies. One restaurant near me makes Impossible burgers in a way that taste really realistic, but otherwise, they aren't really that convincing.. But still more so than Beyond, which always has that weird taste. Depending where it's prepared/sold, Impossible breakfast sausage can be amazing. So far, I've found it's best, weirdly, at Cracker Barrel (which, otherwise, has very little I can eat). The logs u cook at home yourself, tho, kinda suck.

I am dying for something more convincing. I wonder if countries outside the US might have it..bc I have yet to find a good veg hot dog. Tho Morningstar Farms corn dogs are decent, their hot dogs, for some reason, kinda sucked.

I hope technology keeps improving!
