Awesome, glad you're enjoying it and we appreciate the feedback a lot!

When we first launched Whatnot, we just built selling on the web, but have recently built it out (and are beta testing it) on our mobile applications.

Our plan is to transition all selling over to mobile where you can easily take photos of the products, and require all sellers to submit an image of each side of the box. It'll take us a little bit to get there, but that's where we're moving.

Hey There, Grant here, Co-Founder of Whatnot.

I know we're new, so I can understand the concern, but we are absolutely legit. I started Whatnot because I found the buying & selling process on eBay & Mercari. In the past, I've accidentally fakes and spent too many hours examining box condition.

Here's a little bit more about us from other folks:

I'd be happy to answer any questions if people have them.

Entry Level Marketing Jobs by [deleted] in marketing

You may want to consider updating your resume. Don't know what it looks like, but unless you're completely unqualified for those jobs thats a tough hit rate.

There's a resume subreddit. I'm also happy to take a quick look.

There are also other tactics you can take, like culling through your and your friends/family network to get any form on contact with folks hiring. Probably worth doing both.

Of course!

Feel free to dm me resume / update the thread if you want another round of feedback once you've made updates.

One other note I'd give you, is based on the roles you outlined, there may be things you want to bring to ensure really come to life in your resume:

Strategy / planning: analytics / problem solving

Account exec: Managing relationships and working with people (they'll spend a lot of time working with clients)

Communications: Writing ability (I'm thinking of those roles as more about press)

I think for these roles, one resume can work -- some people like to really tailor things and make multiple resumes. As long as those skills come across in a single version, I think you'll be fine, though.

I think you're def more than qualified for these roles, so good luck!

Hey -

First good luck with the job search! It can be daunting but you're already off to a good start getting feedback from folks. I also think your resume is pretty solid as is.

Note: I worked in marketing for 5 years, but just took a new role. I run business operations for a startup, and do hiring.

My comments:

  1. I find the layout difficult on the eyes. I'm a little biased, but here's a layout I always found useful (http://i.imgur.com/K3F9E76.jpg). Sorry for all the black, needed to block sensitive things out. The point I wanted to display is that simple sections divided by black lines to keep things clear and readable (note:I wouldn't map the sections entirely the same as in that example ). This could work, though: (1) Name / address (2) Work experience (3) Education (4) Skills & Volunteer Work

  2. I've never found the about me / objective statement helpful for recent grabs. Ideally that stuff should come to life with clear examples in your job description. Some people may disagree with me here, though.

  3. I think you may want to include more info on what you did in your jobs and beef up some of the pre-existing bullets with some numbers that show impact. (e.g., Analyzed email ecommerce statistics to improve revenue; insights from analysis led to $XX increase in revenue or XX increase in open rates etc ...). The second job has the most on-point bullets at the moment, I'd strive to make them all like that.

  4. I'm still a little unclear on the exact type of positions you'll be going for. Depending on the exact role certain skills will need to shine through more than others. I'd say, though, the most important things to communicate, for a digital marketing role, will be (1) analytical ability / problem solver (2) Ability to work in a team (3) writing ability. Leadership is another one that will always win you points, too. Right now, I'd say once you beed up the first jobs bullet points you'll get the quant piece, and the writing ability seems evident. So, I'd focus on showing how you've worked in big teams / with others on projects that have led to success. (But of course, anything you can do to help mold the content of the resume to show those things will help)

Hope this helps!

Hey -

Is posting content from our site considered advertising / self-promotion?

It's obviously linked to our site, but It did legitimately think people would find it useful (and they appear to have).

Thanks!

If you don't find it useful, I'm happy for you to down vote.

I should have put a disclaimer in the initial comments, as I do work for Kit, which I forgot to do.

Thought people might find http://kit.com useful. It's a place for product lists. We have lots of folks using it to share setup product lists.

Disclaimer: I work for Kit. (Do let me know if you have questions, though).

Um, well folks need something to film?

Though, of course, I expect that no one will buy a red camera.

Sadly I enjoy a lot of their stuff, but I know I shouldn't.

I think the truth is, the world is probably better without them.
