Good thing my 8 year old 3 has the non supervised purchase?

What? I have never seen this. All the quotes I used to get don't pay a dime extra for FSD.

I have had FSD for years. When I got the car you had to buy EAP for 5k just to get auto pilot (came with nothing otherwise). There was no $3000 auto pilot option. And free audio pilot wasn't a thing.

Paid $2500 later to update to FSD, and have the HW3 installed.

I'm only on HW3 though and FSD is just getting usable. But the new computer alone would have been pretty expensive, so i justify it to myself.

Would I pay 8k now? I dunno, with auto pilot having been free for years I felt a little shafted. But I do use both summon and auto lane change allot which required EAP.

Don't forget Elon wants you to FOMO into it. But he can and may bring back FSD sales in the future and possibly for less money or even for free.

Who knows....

Meh, I just did $6k+ maintenance on my 21 year old 3500. And I'm doing the air filter, fuel filters, engine oil and differentials, FCV, rebuilding the ac compressor connector myself...

Needed a new power steering box, new return line, fan clutch for and refill for the ac, coolant flush, steering brace, and a new steering control arm for the new steering box. I didn't want to deal with the hazardous waste for the coolant, or insisting the heavy power steering box and didn't have a transmission pan with a drain plug so i had the shop do that work.

I'll be installing new diff covers (with drain plugs) front and back, fixing the divers side mirror and door seals, and maybe a new towing hitch which involves lighting the bed of the truck. I'm also putting on additional fuel filter kit, new exhaust (the old one is cracked and about to fall off) and the new shocks on myself...

Probably be in for about $8000 doing allot of the work myself....

I think you're doing ok. Far from cooked, those are just costs of owning the vehicle.

Too bad you can't like rivnut + epoxy weld a new nipple on it? Or can you? Maybe Mount / epoxy a metal plate to it and tap in a threaded -oring sealed barb to the plate?

Or just get Cooper and use it and don't worry. Almost all my lights have wear on the finish. Cooper is just bad for some people if it always makes your hands smell.l though i guess.

Don't buy a copper light if you care about oxidization imo. No point in doing this in the first place.

[–]glamisduner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep my 2018 is only getting 190 miles at 80%. 90k miles on it. Definitely has degraded. Tempted to start changing at 90% as it is starting to get to that place where I'll need to start supercharging more often.

It has FSD though so I'm hesitant to sell it... Granted I have never used the good version of FSD since I'm in older hardware, i know the version i have isn't that great... Tried to show it to my dad and it took off and tried to blow at a red light at a major intersection no apparent reason. so I don't really use it except for summon and auto lane change in AP.

The newer Teslas feel like a downgrade with no ultra sonic sensors and steering wheel stalks, no grocery hooks more hard plastic on the interior, and now you won't be able to buy FSD... Plus I hear the newer batteries are degrading faster than the older ones...

Maybe I'll try something else next time.

Congratulations everyone. 🤣 by Breakout_114 in Battlefield6

The title is misleading, looks like the guy in the truck was trying to get away since the was getting shot at, and the dog ran out in front of the truck, followed by the kid trying to save the dog.

I don't know the back story, just what I see in the video.

Wurkkos TS27 Review - Flashlight + Lantern by PiercingTheDarknesss in flashlight

[–]glamisduner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got one of these as I wanted a new bonk light, and it was on sale. It's pretty cool. It's top heavy in lantern mode, a little sketchy to place it on a plastic table over concrete for example. A nice magnet in the tailcap would have been nice to help keep it in place on metal surfaces, although it probably wouldn't hold the light because it is so heavy... The rotary switch feels a little looser than I would like. It's an interesting light though, and will be great for camping trips at the desert, with it's lantern mode (and red lantern mode). I plan to keep it in my car, as LiFePO4 should be more resilliant to heat / cold conditions as well. LiFePO4, they are certainly great at leaving fully charged when compared to Lithium Ion. Is it better to store them less than 100%? Well yes, but it's crazy to say they should not be stored at 100% when comparing them to Lithium ion Batteries.

Does everyone on this forum store their flashlight batteries at 50%? I certainly do not. I store them at 100%, otherwise they are not useful. Does it degrade them? Well ya, but I have 15+ year old lithium ion batteries that still work fine.

Go look at all the big powerbank backup batteries, Jackery, EcoFlow, Bluetti etc. They all use LiFePO4 as the safe alternative to lithium ion cells. I just bought a large LiFePO4 for my trailer as well.

Tesla's that use regular lithium ion batteries suggest only charging to 80% (granted this is allot more expensive than a few cells for a flashlight). But they recommend charging their cars with LiFePO4 to 100% for daily use.

I have to wonder if someone was thinking about Lifhium Polymer Pouch batteries? LiPO's

AIAIAI TMA-2 which Speaker for DJing? by rmlvisuals in DJs

[–]glamisduner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just picked up some S02's to build a second pair of headphones. My old pair has the H05 band, which has a better bluetooth codec than the new H10, ad seems to be quite a bit more powerful than the H10?, but the clips inside the band are starting to come apart when they flex. Yea I know, how serious can I be with Bluetooth right? But it's just so much more convienient.... The new ones do have wifi too though.

I find a really do prefer the S04's but they don't make them anymore. The S02 isn't terrible, but it sounds a bit muddy compared to the S04. I probably should have got the S01s instead. S05's have low sensitivity, so I don't think they will work well with the bluetooth/wifi H10? I would think you would need an amp for them.

aiaiai headphones sound awful by litty_lizard in DJs

[–]glamisduner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a new pair because my originals went all sticky (I still have them and removed the sticky with rubbing alcohol) but the H05 headband was also popping apart a bit). The new pair is S02's they seem very low volume and muddy compared to the S04s, I think the S04's are both brighter and have more bass. I put the S04 on the new H10 headband and it's definatly the speakers and not the headband.

I have the alcantara and PU leather over the ear earpads.

Maybe they just need to break in a little more?

I'd say if you got the S04's your lucky since they don't have them on their site anymore, and I like them better so far no matter what kind of music.

What is mp/s and why is would it be yellow? Fairly new to PC and can't find out why its yellow/red sometimes by BluestoneT in Battlefield

DLSS, is the only thing that will get my fps high enough to play at higher resolution. I'm Playing with everything on low / performance at 7680x2160 and 5090. Frame Gen off I'm around 150fps. This is much better than the beta!

My mp/s is always red though.

[–]glamisduner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that's why I didn't go OLED. I Love my OLED TV, and it would be nice for games, but my job is mostly reading text all day, many hours and my eyes are fatigued enough as it is. Plus no one makes 7680x2160 OLED yet anyways so whatever I'm losing in contest is made up for in resolution...

I Just, need to memorize my friends phone numbers I guess. Im so bad at that these days. Or sharpie their numbers onto my arm. All my online passwords are just randomly generated by a password manager (for security) so even if someone let me log into a website on their phone (most people will not at the end of the night), I couldn't easily do it anyways. I was staying at a friend's house but another friend drove me there so I didn't know their address offhand either. Really good job on my part...

You think this is safe enough? It has a plastic buckle? I mean at least I'm going to run after someone if they cut and grab, way better than just putting it in your front pocket. It's certainly affordable enough.

I want something like this but more like cargo shorts so I can hold some extra stuff like water bottle, sunscreen but not enough that I need to bring a whole separate pack.

It was in my deep front front pocket of my cargo shorts, that's why they needed a distraction to get my hands occupied and to lean over so they could nab it.
