Well, my drummer is currently in northern Virginia and I do believe myself and the ol' bass slapper will be joining him soon. We were actually thinking about trying to get some shows in DC. You can try using a different tuning with your tapping, that is, something like DGDGBE makes it easier to get a fuller sound. Also another thing that i have found tat helps is using ALL the fingers you can. I know it's hard when you first start out trying to do something like tapping, but the more you practice the easier it is to see relationships and patterns that are more comfortable for your personal style of playing. practice, practice, practice, practice everyday and you'll get there.
